Start with equivalent fare snapshots
Use the same passengers, route, travel dates, direction, cabin or fare scope, and currency. Record where and when each option was checked. If one option uses a different date or leaves an operating carrier unclear, fix the evidence before comparing the totals.
The cited US, EU, and UK sources each distinguish required displayed charges from optional choices within their scope. The current US framework changed on July 2, 2026, when the Department of Transportation restored the rules that preceded its vacated 2024 ancillary-fee rule. The sheet therefore asks for current source notes instead of relying on a generic fee list.
The arithmetic adds six named amount lines
Each card has displayed airfare, selected bags, selected seats, ground transfers, an overnight stay, and one other named item. Enter an amount only after checking that it belongs to this itinerary and your intended choices.
The browser sums the non-empty, non-negative amounts. It does not fetch a fare, convert currency, apply an exchange rate, estimate an unknown fee, add tax, or infer what an airline includes. The currency control is a label for one comparison, not a converter.
Blank and zero mean different things
Leave an amount blank when it still needs evidence. The summary names that missing line beside the total. Enter zero only when zero is the amount you deliberately want recorded for that line.
This distinction prevents an option with incomplete research from appearing cheaper simply because its bag, seat, transfer, or overnight layer has not been checked.
Time, structure, and terms stay outside the total
Elapsed journey time and ticket structure appear as text beside each option. Fare change, cancellation, and refund terms belong in the source note or your separate evidence. The tool does not assign them a cash value and does not compute an expected disruption loss.

The sheet stays in the current browser page
The form has no action. Its arithmetic uses the values already in the page. The tool does not save them, create an account, send custom analytics events, or connect to a seller, airline, booking, fare, schedule, policy, or exchange-rate service.
A printed sheet is still a private planning note. It is not a fare quote, booking confirmation, receipt, passenger-rights decision, insurance record, or airline statement.
