Common driving licence

The Cheshire East Council will issue a combination driving licence allowing both Hackney Carriage and Hire Vehicles to be driven. One license has a term of 3 years. Candidates must either have the Btec Levels 2 Certificate in the Introductory Course to the Professional Taxi and Passenger Driver or NVQ Levels 2 Certificate in Road Passenger Transport (Taxi and Passenger Driver) or attend a course before enrolling.

A license is only awarded once the BTEC has been successfully completed and the certification has been validated. The purchase of either the BTEC or the NVQ does not constitute a warranty that a license will be obtained. Every proposer must also convince the Council that he is a suitable individual.
