747-400 Boeing About BA

Boeing 747-400 is a four-engine large-capacity jet of the US aviation and space technology group Boeing. It is the world's biggest Boeing 747 carrier. 747-400 is a reliable model with high dependability and includes significant improvement in aerodynamics over previous 747s, as well as the inclusion of air resistance reduction wingtips, new electronics and a new flying platform.

Adapting to today's infrastructures, the 747 serves more than 210 international destinations and is the world's quickest airliner. Aerodynamically, the 747-400's most striking enhancement over its predecessors is the 1.8m (6ft) longer wings with a 6ft tall wingtip that is tilted up and slightly outwards. Winglets provide an even greater span without growing out of the normal airfield slit.

Aerofoil tip extensions and the wing tip wing tip provide a 3 per cent increase in consumption, resulting in significant cost reductions over the lifetime of an aircraft. Here are the different seat plans for the Boeing 747-400: Did you know? 747 of the world's fleets have flew 3.5 billion passengers - half the world's total number.
