Johnson Woody Appointed US Ambassador to Great Britain | Sport

The White House has acknowledged that Woody Johnson, a billion dollar developer who owns a National Football League squad, will be appointed by Donald Trump as the new US ambassador to the UK. Affirming the long-running rumor that Johnson would be proposed for the post, Trump's spokesman acknowledged that the New York Jets proprietor would face the Senate assent for the Senate outpost.

Trump's proposed appointments showed his dedication to building stronger relationships with the UK, Theresa May's spokesperson said Friday. Trump in January was referring to Johnson, 70, as an "ambassador" during the comments at dinner and said he would "go to St. James.
