County will accept and process taxi searches until June 30, 2017. Limousines and barrier-free cabs will also need a permit from 1 July 2017. Driving licences are granted for a period of two years unless otherwise stated. Authorisation shall expire on the date of delivery of the licence holders two years after the issue or renewal of the licence.

Please note: On July 1, 2017, taxi cab fees according to the Taxi Cabin Safety Ordinance will be considered current approvals according to the new Rental Car Ordinance until their expiration date.
Taxi fee is applicable for one car approval year (from 1 May to 30 April). Every taxi car must be checked at least once every twelve month by a licensed technician. Application for a license for operation of the plant
Every passenger must obtain a valid official permit to operate, including taxi riders, coach riders or any paid passenger carrier. Official authorisation is an authorisation or documentation allowing riders to carry persons for official purposes. As soon as your resume has been submitted to the CRO, it will be reviewed by the Western Cape Department of Transport and Public Works to make sure it is completed.
