History[edit]

Hongkong (Chinese: ??; Cantonese: H?unggóng) is a stop of the MTR underground system in Hong Kong. It' the east end of the Tung Chung Line and the Airport Express. Located between Man Cheung Street and Harbour View Street, Central Hong Kong Island, it is under the International Finance Centre (IFC).

There is a footbridge connecting the railway to the main railway terminal. Connaught Road Central crosses a number of tunnel sections with autowalks. The Hong Kong Airport provides a check-in in the city facility for travel from Hong Kong International Airport and free shuttles to most large central and Wan Chai hotel areas.

The Hong Kong CEO Tung Chee-hwa officially opened the Airport Railway by opening a blackboard in the Hong Kong Base Hall on 21 June 1998. Tung Chung Line opened the railway terminal to passengers on 22 June 1998 and the Airport Express began on 6 July 1998, the date on which the new Chek Lap Kok Airport was opened.

The Hong Kong Train Terminal is the Hong Kong Hauptbahnhof. Located in the centre of the city, above the tower of the IFC Tower, its prime location is the terminal of the Airport Express and Tung Chung line to Hong Kong Disneyland. It is also possible to reach two MTR underground routes via the connected centre stop.

Those looking for China train services will come and leave from Hung Hom Station in Kowloon. Express is the fastest way to Hong Kong Hong Kong Airports. Train services run every 10 mins from 5:30 a.m. until shortly after Midnight and take only 24 min to get to the terminal.

Train services are located below the hall. You can also check-in in the city on the Airport-EXpress - where you can drop off your baggage up to twenty-four hour in advanced at Hong Kong Railway Terminal (see below for details). It is a convenient way to get the check-in out of the way and means less hassle in organising your journey to the airports.

Tung Chung line goes to Tung Chung on Lantau Island, but has few stations and its primary goal is Sunny Bay - where you can switch to Disneyland Hong Kong. You can buy your ticket for the parking lot at the train depot. Situated in the centre of Hong Kong's HQ and on the roof of the IFC supermarket, the centre is well-situated.

To get to Hong Kong Airport the simplest way is with the MTR subway. Located between the railway stations and the main railway stations are subterranean tunnel and automatic footpaths, where you can reach Island Line and Tsuen Wan Line. Tsim Sha Tsui's Star Ferry also links the train terminal and stops at the IFC 2 dock.

Part of the Airport Express system, ticketing agents can use the batteries of shuttles that welcome the train's arrival. Those shuttles take you to almost every major Hong Kong Island airport - although you are free to use them at any airport you choose.

It is not very crowded with amenities in the train hall itself, apart from a few kiosks, but the centre is located under one of Hong Kong's biggest commercial centres. In the IFC mall you' ll find a variety of dining venues, cafés and even a grocery store with convenient convenience caterers. Bathrooms are available in both the centre and the railway stations, and baggage storage and cash dispensers are located in the railway hall.
