This taxi start-ups will modify the way you intercity travels, changing, Auto News, ET Auto Hippocabs located in Jaipur, Yatayat located in Ahmedabad and the recently financed AHA-Taxis in Noida are three such taxi generators that have been built in the last six month.... Hippocabs, which currently provides Jaipur-Delhi service, was designed for a connection to Mumbai after the landing of Sahil Agrawal, 21, at Delhi International on his return from Germany, but chose to meet his parent directly in Jaipur.

Mr Agrawal found out that one-way taxi drivers charge twice the price, plus the roundtrip price. Therefore he decided for a luxurious coach journey to Jaipur. It was this experiment that led him to join forces with Sagar Agrawal to create Hippocabs, a taxi aggregate that calculates simple fares and also allows carpooling.

"At the end of the day, over 1 rupee a person spends a whole lot of money a month to travel between Jaipur and Delhi in luxurious busses, taxis and trains," Agrawal said. Yatayat, headquartered in Ahmedabad, which began in April this year, provides service in 12 towns across the country, among them Ahmedabad, Vadodara, Surat, Rajkot, Udaipur, Mumbai, Pune, Nashik, Delhi, Agra, Jaipur and Chandigarh.

It' s perfect for those who want to make a reservation for Real trains, for couples traveling in luxurious busses and overland departures from airports," says Pranav Parikh, co-founder of Yatayat. Parkh said wireless taxi operators are willing to work for off-road station tours as they achieve better yields, especially as intercity taxi aggregate providers fail to deliver them business. What's more, they're willing to pay for their off-road services.

Recently funded by Angels, Amit Grover, co-founder of AHA Taxis, was also driven by his own experiences when he was billed a dual price for single journeys from Bhopal to Delhi. AHA Taxis was founded at the beginning of this year and has extended to more than 100 towns in India, among them Moradabad, Bareilly and Bijnor in Uttar Pradesh as well as Delhi, Jaipur, Agra, Chandigarh and Dehradun.

India's roads are five Times the size of the railway and the deal is shared among coach and taxi companies. Intercity taxi in India is valued at over 9 billion dollars (about 60,000 rupees), with 15-18% year on year increase.
