Bring newborns home from hospital with a secure taxi ride. - Circus

Objective: To assess an action to improve the use of automobile seating (CSSs) by a parent for the first home trip of their neonate from hospital to a community not normally subject to TV, web and printstreaming. MATHODS: The parents of newborns who did not take CSF to hospital before their child was released received a CSF for use in a "safe taxi service".

The taxi driver was educated to securely set up the css. Interventions were assessed using pre-program questionnaire and follow-up 4-8 week after release. RESULTS: Twelve parent participants took part in the interventions during the trial phase (January to April 2011) and in the assessment proces. The majority (75%) stated that they had not yet made routine use of CSS and that the reasons were not financially sound.

After the " secure taxi " intervened, 83% stated that it is used for travel in all cars (except buses). Subsequently, most respondents said that the interventions had raised their level of consciousness and the use of CCS. RESULT: The interventions aimed at this particular target group were well accepted by families, raising consciousness, changing practice and ensuring that more babies came home safer in a CCS.
