Las Vegas taxi cabin industries are strictly controlled by the Nevada Taxi Cab Authority. It is possible to take a taxi outside the luggage reclaim area at the airports...or at the front door of any of the hotels. One little-known fact is that Las Vegas cabins are legally forbidden to stop on the road for a customer...even if the taxi is empty!

Taxi pick-ups are only allowed in hotel and at main collection points. When driving from and to the points on the lane, it is much more convenient to take the (No. 301 or 302) lane coach than a taxi. Collection from the carpool is on 2M floor of the multi-storey car park. Position of Terminals 3: At the baggage claim, take the lift near doors 52, 54 or 56 to tier 1. Across the footbridge on Floor 1 to the multi-storey car park Car Park Terminal 3. At the Valet floor of the multi-storey car park you can find the car-sharing office.

There are sixteen taxi operators serving the Las Vegas Valley. On entering a taxi, the taxi attendant starts the meter (called "drop") and an upfront fee of $3. 30 is registered. When a taxi journey begins at McCarran International Airports, an extra $1.80 per journey is added to the meter.

The majority of Las Vegas stripe hostels are two to five kilometers from the airports. Thus the cabin price (from the airport) should be between $12. 00 and $17. 00... up to a few dollars more if the travel is slower and the "waiting time" is estimated. "The cost of travel from the airfield to a city center motel is about $5 more.

When three or more persons travel together, it is less expensive to take a taxi than the international airfares.

The Nevada Act provides that up to five persons may travel in a taxi at the fare indicated on the meter. A maximum of five persons is allowed, provided that the taxi operator does not transport more than two persons in the front of the taxi. Vegas Taxis do not take credit/debit card as a means of payments.
