The Easy Taxicab is a portable e-hailing solution available in 30 different states. 1 ] The app allows the user to reserve a cab and follow it in live mode. Easy Taxis was established in Brazil in 2011 and has since grown worldwide with a worldwide presence in 30 different markets and more than 420 towns.

In December 2014, the firm announced that it has grown to 17 million subscribers and more than 400,000 cab drivers[5] are connected to an Easy Taxicab service. Gomes says the primary reason for founding the business was the lack of efficiency in transporting taxis, which he witnessed in Rio de Janeiro during one of the start-up events:

Easy Taxi was one of the nominees for the final of a high-tech Rio meeting that gathered industry executives and governments interested in resolving municipal issues. A further financing round of USD 10 million and a development project for a new target group - Africa - were heralded in July 2013. Africa Internets Group, supported by Rocket Internets and its 35% owned telecommunications provider Millicom, was the JV in charge of the project.

Rocket International and EMENA Holding joined forces in October 2013 to launch the app in the Middle East and North Africa. 23 ] With its launch in Nigeria, the firm has also revealed its intention to travel to Ghana, Egypt, Morocco, Côte d'Ivoire and South Africa towards the end of 2013. The initial approach of prioritising those market segments that have difficulties with metropolitan transport and are inefficient in their transport systems[10] remains an integrated part of Easy Taxi's growth policy, with almost all of its segments included in the developing countries group.
