B.G. Transit's Mission is to offer secure, accessible and high value means of transport within the boundaries of the Bowling Green, Ohio area. B.G. Transit is Bowling Green's open to all! A lot of folks think B.G. Transit is a "cab," but it's not.

This is a local transport system which functions more like a coach service whose journey is defined by planned journeys. B.G. is one of the few Ohio state government subsidized means of transport that does not need 24-hour advance reservation. Financing is partly provided by the City of Bowling Green, Community Block Grant Dollar and an operational subsidy from the Ohio Department of Transportation or ODOT and the Federal Transit Administration or ESTV.

As our system is subsidised, we must comply with the service mandate set by ODOT and ESTV. Service is restricted to a distance of one kilometre outside Bowling Green's corporate boundaries. Transit ID cards are only available by arrangement. City of Bowling Green runs its programmes and provides its service regardless of Race, Colour or Nationality in accordance with Title VI of the Civil Rights Act. Appeals Procedures - The City of Bowling Green has adopted a procedural appeals mechanism to incorporate Title VI appeals. B.G. Transit passenger wishing to submit a complaint may do so in accordance with the complaint procedures set forth and using the city's complaint reporting forms. Pursuant to City Administrative Instruction #32, this complaints procedure has been set up to comply with the Americans with Disabilities Act of 1990 ("ADA"). Anyone wishing to lodge a claim that the City of Bowling Green is discriminated against on the grounds of disabilities in the delivery of any service, activity, programme or service may use it.

Appeals should be made in written form and include information about the allegation of discriminatory conduct, such as the complainant's name, postal and telephone number and place, date, transit vehicle number (if known) and nature of the issue. Alternate means of complaining, such as face-to-face interviewing or a recorded record of the grievance, will be made available to people with a disability upon enquiry.

Complaints should be filed by the complainant and/or his representative as soon as possible, but no later than 60 consecutive working days following the allegation of infringement: The members of the Transit Advisory Committee are nominated by the Mayor for a term of three years. It shall meet every three months and shall be open to the public. There shall be no meeting of the Committee.
