Purchase used aircraft

As a buyer, Alan notices that you want to make sure:.... Buying a second-hand do-it-yourself is becoming more and more popular.

The third golden rule of buying a used aircraft is in any case:. Buying a used plane. Go over your plane with a checklist before you take off into the wild sky.

How come US Airlines buys so many used planes?

Several of the world's largest airline companies have caused a stir in recent weeks with their large aircraft orders. U.S.-based airline companies also choose to buy or rent used aircraft from overseas companies to fill their fleet. Aircrafts? As well as used automobiles have lower prices than newer automobiles, used aircraft costs less than newer types.

Those already flew aircraft are still functional, although their lifespan will not be as long as for brandnew aircraft. However, their greatest drawback is not their old age, but their poor level of motor vehicle refuelling in comparison to more advanced cutting machines. Given that current petrol fares are so low and that most large airlines have been able to secure themselves that their cost will be relatively low over the next few years, this handicap is not a dealbreaker.

Indeed, the monetary amount that will be spared by the purchase or lease of used boats instead of new ones will more than make up for the higher cost of petrol. The southwest was the main supporter of this policy. Headquartered in Dallas, the company purchases 83 used 737-700s from other carriers around the globe. Although these aircraft are not new, they are much newer than some of the older aircraft they will replace.

Enhancements to aircraft servicing practice will allow the Southwest, which works solely with 737s, to keep these aircraft in the skies longer than before. Used and immediately available aircraft will make it possible to speed up the decommissioning of older aircraft and thus keep down the cost.

Delta, which buys 737s from its Brasilian ally Gol, and United, which buys 319s from China's airline companies, follow Southwest's example and opt for used aircraft. US carrier have historically been selling their older aircraft to airline companies in foreign countries, replacing them with brands new. In Brazil, Russia and China, airline companies are now shipping their older aircraft to US carrier companies.

A number of air companies in these jurisdictions are reducing their operations due to commercial difficulties or competitive pressure. Perhaps this second-hand tendency is a side effect of the past battles in the US aviation world. Although things have been going very well for most large companies recently, insolvencies and debts are still on everyone's lips.

Airline companies want to spread their new winnings as far as possible. The purchase and lease of used aircraft shows that US carrier are willing to go against traditional methods as long as it will help them increase their bottom line.
