Works as a Call Center Representative for Alaska Airlines: staff evaluations

Alaska Airlines, and I really liked my work, the business and the way I worked with them. Once again I wanted to work with Alaska when I went to Phoenix, but I had no clue what to expect. In my opinion, the Alaska Spirit is about nothing comparable to the call center agent role.

When you call in ill, event when you get ill and are sent home, event when you are in an emergency, event (not so serious, but not less frequent), the schedule goes on and on. I am very dissapointed because I like Alaska Airlines, the call centre is just not what Alaska is all about.

and Virgin America loses its callsign, "Redwood," and is formally "Alaska."

Alaska Airlines is official Virgin America, at least according to the information of the flight controller. Airlines fused a little over a year ago, but the transaction was closed in the sight and ear of flight control on Thursday when Virgin America dropped its colourful callsign evoking its California roots:

Callsign is what pilot, flight controller and other flight crew use to reach airlines. Virgin America services took over Alaska Airlines' easier callsign "Alaska" on Thursday as both airlines will fly under the so-called "Single Operation Certificate". "It' s like a name change when you get married," said Phil Derner, a former flight planner and creator of NYCaviation.com, a website for flight messaging and aircraft spots.

"is just one of several colored callsigns used by airlines. British-airways is known as "Speedbird", which means an early company name. The Angolan freight carrier Gemini is known as "Twins". For example, an ATC would use the callsign and the number of the aircraft to contact the pilot - for example "Speedbird 1516".

U.S. Airways used "Cactus", a holding company of America West, an airline headquartered in Arizona, with which it entered into a merger in 2005. Later, US Airways fused with US Airlines, whose callsign is just "American". As Alaska is right in the middle of getting its fleet and crew married to those of Virgin America, which started to fly in August 2007.

Customers can continue to make bookings and travel with their aircraft via the Virgin America website.
