There are two major Airbus production facilities - one in Toulouse and one in Hamburg. Despite having in recent years heard tales of Hawker Beechcraft's difficulties, the firm has been manufacturing popular airplanes since its founding by Walter H. and Olive Ann Beech in 1932. Under the name Beech Corporation, the airline first presented Model 17 - also known as Beechcraft Staggerwing - which captures the imagination of corporate travelers and aerial climbers alike.
Beech became a wholly owned affiliate of Raytheon in 1980, before taking over British aerospace corporate jet and its beloved line of mid-size Hawker aircraft in 1993. In the following year Beech Aircraft merged with the Raytheon Corporate Jet to become Raytheon Aircraft. For over a decade, Hawker's operations boomed before Onex and GS Capital Partners acquired Raytheon Aircraft in March 2007 and changed its name to Hawker Beechcraft Corporation.
Since Hawker was struggling to repay interest on the debts used to finance the acquisition, the firm revealed that it had completed the Chapter 11 protections in May 2012. In February 2013, following the failure of a high-profile acquisition of Beijing-based Superior Aviation, the Beechcraft Corporation went bankrupt as a renamed Beechcraft Corporation.
Beechcraft has shipped its last ever Hawker Jet in the first three months of 2013, but continues to serve the industry with a global customer base that includes a global customer care organization with a global presence of more than 90 authorized centers around the globe and a global presence that provides parts and on-going technical assistance to over 18,000 Hawker customers.
Though Boeing is best known for its legendary aircraft, the Boeing Business Jet range was introduced in the late 1990s by taking over the 737's business cell and converting it into the BBJ through a range of custom conversions and luxuries. Recently, BBJ' s have integrated intercontinental Boeing 777, Boeing 787 and Boeing 747-8 configuration and can accommodate up to 50 typical occupants with enough room for a main room, bath and lounge.
Boeing Company itself was established in Seattle in 1916 by William Boeing. The Boeing Group expanded for many years before it merged with McDonnell Douglas in 1997 and moved its corporate head office to Chicago in 2001. The three versions of BBJ continue to be the preferred choice of jet owner and operator, and a combined 138 planes were shipped to clients between 1996 and 2011.

Once back in the black, Boombardier Canadair did the same job with Belfast-based airframe manufacturer Shortbrothers and then with the Learjet Factory in Wichita, Kansas. It was Clyde Cessna, the first man to ever built and flown an airplane from the Mississippi River to the Rocky Mountains. Hawker Beechcraft and Learjet, the corporation was established in Wichita, Kansas, and has retained its urban head office. Textron is a Textron affiliate, and Kansas-born Scott Earnest has been Cessna' s Chief Executive Officer since June 2011, after replacing Jack Pelton, who recently left the Group.
Dassault Aviation, located in Paris, made a name for itself in the production of fighters for the army. 1954 the enterprise made a drawing of a slim corporate jet with two power plants under the wings. Well-known as The Méditerranée, the concept never went beyond the document on which it was printed after it was determined that the plane would be too expensive to be mass-produced and was the company's first commercial jet to prepare the shaft for the legendary Falcon family.
However, after the US carrier had abandoned the concept of selling an airplane with a Franco name, it was finally converted to the Falcon 20 the following year. Embraer was established in Brazil in 1969 and went into the aviation industry to manufacture dependable turbo-props. With the production of a series of defence jets in the 1970', a local jet in 1985 and a Piper jet in 1974, Embraer was finally resold to prevent insolvency in 1994.
Throughout the new century, the firm turned its head when it heralded the launch of its legacy programme and the construction of its first ever commercial jet. As the Legacy continues to consolidate its position as an extremely beloved mid-size jet, Embraer went on a 2006 U.S. air show trip to present models of its new Phenom 100 and Phenom 300 commercial jets.
While Gulfstream has designed a number of well-liked mid-size jetliners such as the G200 and G450, the Georgia-based firm has earned its fame almost entirely through the construction of large corporate jetliners. Gulfstream Aerospace, which has always specialized solely in corporate jetliners, emerged from Grumman Aviation Engineering Co., a manufacturer of aircrafts for the armed forces.
Grumman's corporate identity dates back to the early 1950', when it manufactured a turboprop called Gulfstream I. The move from the state of New York to the small town of Savannah, Georgia, did not take place until the 1970's, when Grumman renamed himself Gulfstream American after its merger with American Aviation Corp.
Acquired by General Dynamics in the mid-90s, Gulfstream produced the first ultra-long cruising jet, the GV. With large, wide-ranging machines such as the A500, G550 and G650, the firm is now on the right track.
