The Happy Bird starts in Bristol
Batty and his Liz spouse, former lawyers themselves, are hoping to turn Happy Bird into a restaurant network that will open more Bristol and other southwestern towns in the near future. Mr Chris Moore, former CEO of Domino's Pizza UK and Ireland and shareholder in a number of UK and Irish grocery companies, is non-executive director.

Batty has worked for the past 16 years in senior positions in the hotel and restaurant, recreational retailing, quick foods and clothing retailing sectors since retiring from his London based personal experience.
The Happy Bird will be one of several ethical roast cockerel stores founded in recent years. After two years of trade, Hen has no longer shut down its first site in Brighton, its London site or Tottenham's Chickentown.
