Jet2.com Limited, often referred to as Jet2, is a UK low-cost carrier located at Leeds Bradford Airport, England. Jet2.com is the UK's 4th busiest commercial airline[3] Headquartered and headquartered at Leeds Bradford International Airport,[4] with offices in Manchester, Belfast International, Edinburgh, Newcastle, East Midlands, Glasgow, Alicante, Birmingham and London Stansted.

It has a Type A operating permit from the UK Civil Aviation Authority to transport passenger, freight and mail on 20 or more seater aeroplanes. Via its trademark, Jet2charters, Jet2.com also provides a charterservice. Jet2holidays is an affiliate of Jet2holidays that provides ABTA- and ATOL-protected packages with accommodations, transfer and Jet2.com flights to 47 cities and sunny spots.

In April 2015, Jet2.com employed around 4,000 people. Jet2. com Limited is a wholly owned business unit of Dart Group PLC, an aerospace service and sales group. In 1983, the company began to operate passenger planes under the name Channel Express[5] when it was bought by Philip Meeson, currently Executive Chairman of the Dart Group.

Originally active as a cargo carrier, the carrier also began providing Boeing jets in 2001 with scheduled air transport of passengers to mainly regional airports on mainly small- and medium-haul flights. Channel Express founded the Jet2.com of Leeds Bradford Airport in 2003. Jet2.com, trading under the new Jet2.com name, took off on its maiden voyage from Leeds Bradford to Amsterdam on February 12, with two Boeing 737-300s in twice a day rotary service.

In 2003, further regular flights were started to seven solar and urban holiday resorts in Europe. December 2004 saw the opening of a second Manchester Airport Air Terminal, which operates from Terminal 1. Jet2.com opened a third office in Newcastle in 2005. During the year, the firm purchased two Boeing 757-200s, allowing it to serve midfield as well as carry more customers on major legacy services.

The planes assisted the firm in opening two additional support points in Blackpool (this was closed in October 2014 due to the closing of the airport) and Edinburgh. During 2006 the Bournemouth office moved to Leeds and was rebranded Jet2.com Limited. In November and December 2008, the carrier flew four Leeds Bradford flights directly to Newark Liberty International with Boeing 757-200, with a number of Leeds Bradford and Newcastle flights scheduled for December 2010.

Jet2.com has again launched Christmas flights to New York in the 2012 winters from Glasgow, East Midlands, Newcastle and Leeds. Annual flights to New York were resumed from the four base locations, with additional flight data in October 2014.

Boeing launched used Boeing 737-800s into its fleets in January 2011. Thus the airplanes were bigger than the 737-300s and smaller than the 757-200s. In April 2011, the carrier will open an 8th airport in Glasgow, initially with 9 flights. 9 ] The basis was opened on 31 March, slightly ahead of schedule.
