Mini Mac

Mac mini is a small desktop computer from Apple Inc. That cheap macOS desktop is apparently. sspan class="mw-headline" id="Overview">Übersicht[edit] ManufacturerApple Inc. Mac mini is an entry-level computer for price-conscious people. By the time it was released in 2011, Mac mini had significantly less computing performance than the other Macintosh line PCs.

In contrast to traditional desktops that use off-the-shelf devices such as 3.5-inch disks and full-size DIMMs, Apple's Mac mini uses less power-intensive notebook devices to integrate all the necessary devices into the small chassis and avoid heat.

14 ] Previously, with the selection of component parts on the older machines, the machines were seen as slightly slow than traditional desktops. Apple unveiled a new Mac mini release and computer changes on October 22, 2009. It has a second disk instead of an optic one.

Mac mini was launched with a new Mac mini on June 15, 2010. It was slimmer, with a solid aluminium body engineered to be easy to open for accessing memory, and built-in, updated hard ware, such as an HDMI connector and Nvidia GeForce 320M video cards. Updated as previously released on July 20, 2011, the built-in CD/DVD drives of all releases fell and featured a Thunderbolt connector, an Intel Core e5 CPU and either Intel HD graphics 3000 built-in graphs or AMD Radeon HD 6630M embedded graphs.

This server version has been updated to a quad-core Intel Intel core IP7 CPU. QCDs are also being used in the late 2012 Mac mini desktops with quad-core 7 processors. 17 ] After two long years, it received a long-awaited boost in October 2014 that brought Haswell GPUs, better graphs, a $100 lower basic pricing, while the metallic shell stayed almost unchanged.

Mac mini, which was upgraded on June 15, 2010, has been completely redesigned,[1] thinner than its predecessors with only 36 mm (1.4 in.) in height, but broader with 196 mm (7.7 in.) per side. Launched on July 20, 2011, the newer version has the same size, but is slightly smaller at 1.2 kg (2.7 pounds), probably because it doesn't have an integrated CD/DVD player.

Your Mac mini is currently equipped to open with a round lid on the underside of your computer. Earlier Mac mini releases were much harder to open. Several Mac mini users used a spatula or pie slicer to open the cases of older Mac mini products, get inside and install cheap third-party storage up-grades.

19 ] The Apple Service Source Guide for Mac mini provides a detailed description of this process, which includes an Apple part number for a "modified spatula. Opening the case doesn't really invalidate the Mac mini guarantee; anything that breaks when the case is open is not protected. Further enhancements included harddisk upgrade, CPU clocking (G4 only),[22] and upgrade of cordless network (for older models) to 802.11n.

23 ] The 2009 version can have its SuperDrive substituted by a second SATA disk. 24 ] The 2011 optic expansion allows room for a second built-in HDD or SDK, which can be ordered as a BTO from Apple or as an upgraded from third parties.

When Apple changed to the Intel Core Solo and Duo lines, they first used a socket-based Mac mini-based CPU to replace the processors. Changed to a non-socketed 2009 version that did not allow a simple upgrading. The June 2010 revisions allow the case to be easily opened to allow the addition of additional memory (except for the end of 2014 models). use.

Recent versions have an HDMI connector for simple connectivity to advanced TVs and home cinema sets. Mac mini does not come with an internal TV card and cannot be updated to fit an internal TV card; access to the TV will require the use of outside equipment such as Elgato's EyeTV USB adaptor or SiliconDust's HDHomeRun network TV radio that encodes and manages TV shows from a wired or wireless TV set.

July 2011 version is missing integrated CD/DVD and OS Lion no longer support Front Row remotes. Mac mini before 2009 had a camcorder port that was compliant with compatible adapters for video with the following formats: DVI, HDMI (video only), SVGA, S-Video, and composites. Unlike Apple TV, Mac mini is backward compliant with TVs that only have composit or S-Video in.

Since Mac mini was redesigned in July 2011, the computer has had an Intel HD3000 GPU with an option of a Radeon GPU and Thunderbolt, which makes high-speed playback much faster and more effective. An additional HDMI connector makes it easy to connect the Mini to high-definition TVs and home cinema IVs.

Due to the similarly small shape ratio, HDMI connector, IR radio transceiver and web browsing capabilities, some people see the Mac mini as an alternate to Apple TV. Apple TV is restricted to MPEG4 videos, while Mac mini enthusiasts using the corresponding QuickTime encoders can view other movie types such as Divx, Xvid and the Matroska (Mkv) containers or almost any other type with an opensource player like VLC without hacking.

Mac mini's latest Intel Mac mini cameras can watch videos with a HDMI connection with a max 1920x1200 screen size and up to 2560x1600 with a Mini DisplayPort on a compliant screen. Mac mini can also run third-party front-end multimedia players for Mac OS, such as Plex or XBMC, which can be used as a home theatre computer (HTPC).

Mac mini G4 used single-core 32-bit 32-bit PowerPC CPUs with 512 kilobytes of on-chip LG2 memory. These Mac mini model crisps ran at either 1. In addition, it had an ATI Radeon 9200 GPU with 32M DDR SDRAM in the default versions, which was updated to 64M in 2005 in the high-end edition of the definitive Mac mini G4 to 64M VTR.

Mac mini G4 uses 333MHz DDR SDRAM, offers up to 1GB of storage, and has a small size direct acces storage card with only one direct acces USB card reader port. Corrected this problem in the Intel Mac mini model with two laptop DMIM sockets. Mac mini G4 uses a 2. individual.

The Mac mini G4 also comes with a second ATA cord that plugs into the optic work. Mac mini has two FireWire 400 ports and FireWire 2.0 ports. It was later removed from the Mac mini, but an outside modems stayed an optional feature. This system incorporates a built-in loudspeaker and a 1/8-inch analogue mini-terminals jack for audio at the rear of the cabinet.

The latest update to the Mac mini G4 upgrades the built-in Meczanine to integrate AirPort Wi-Fi and Blue tooth technologies on a single die. Previously, the Mac mini contained an AirPort Extreme map glued to the Meczanine shelf and a dedicated Blue Tooth interface. This new Wi-Fi wireless adapter no longer uses an MMCX socket for the aerial (like its predecessors), but a patented Apple socket.

Earlier versions used a "Penryn" Intel Core 2 Duo processors, "Merom" Core 2 Duo and " Yonah" Core Duo and Solo processors.

Rear wall of a 3.1 Mac mini at the end of 2009. Unlike the Mac mini G4, the Intel-based Mac mini uses a dual-channel storage design. Originally the Intel-based Mac mini uses 667MBHz DDR2 SDRAM, while early 2009 revisions of 1066MHz DDR3 use 1066MHz DDR3 SDRAM.

Starting with the 2011 release, Mac mini will support up to 16GB of storage. Whilst all Mac mini releases up to and incl. the 2012 release after purchasing support user-expandable storage, the latest version does not support this,[47] because the storage is brazed to the logical card. Mac mini, Intel-based, is moving from the previously used Ultra ATA/100 to the newer serial ATA port, which provides a 3Gbps max baudrate, but all Intel Mac mini devices have been restricted to 1.5Gbps, although the SATA support 3Gbps.

Each model continues to use 2. In October 2009, a Mac mini was launched with a version that eliminates the need for an optional disk for a second 1TB of memory. Originally, a combo disk unit was available as default, with the SuperDrive as an optional extra, but for the 2010 model, all those that have an optional disk unit include the SuperDrive as default.

Originally an Intel-based Mac mini, it features four built-in 2.0 connectors and a FireWire 400 connector. Whereas the Mac mini G4 only provides analogue sound playback, the Intel-based Mac mini comes with a dedicated Mini-TOSLINK/3. Rather than a standalone full-size VII I added a mini-VI connector along with a Mini DisplayPort connector that provides dual-screen capability.

In contrast to the standard digital video interface, the Mini DisplayPort features support for remote display resolutions up to 2560×1600, allowing the 30-inch Cinema Display to be used with the Mac mini. From this version, the Apple Remote is no longer part of the Mac mini package. Mac mini 2009 gave you 3 different back panel buses for your computer.

New Mac mini has a solid aluminum chassis known as the Uni-body. Initially designed for the MacBook Air[60], the unique body production method was later used for the MacBook and MacBook Pro, as well as the iMac, before it was added to the Mac mini family. The Mac Mini Mac mini releases, published in 2014, used dual-core CPUs that did less well on multithreaded workgroups than the 2012 quad-cores.

In comparison of the high-end versions of both versions, the 2012 version used a 4-core, 8-thread Intel Core i7-3720QM, while the 2014 version used a 2-core, 4-thread Intel Core i7-4578U.
