Overseas Flights

transatlantic flights

Ten things to take with you on every international flight (and three things not to take with you). My flights are long distance, mostly intercontinental. I have a brief listing of objects I have with each one. I' m also keeping an eye on what other apparently experienced travelers are bringing, so I have a few of them on this as well. Maybe just as important, I've got three things here you shouldn't take with you.

There is some overlapping here with my 8 Long Focus Tips, but that was more about being talked about, that's more convenient (and especially not technical). A good headphone with sound reduction can significantly reduce the sound of the motor, making the whole trip much more relaxed. Neither they will help the babies in tears, nor the chatty neighbours, nor are all headsets with sound suppression the same.

Learn why headphone specifications are worthless and why headphone suppression is worthless compared to noise-isolating earphones. The best sound reduction available on the market today and it is minute. So if you don't want to buy some NC earphones (the cheaper ones are rare ), some earplugs are certainly a good value one. A lot of new airplanes have got connectors for every single one.

Having a long enough cord so you can use your telephone conveniently or keep it in your back pouch is perfect. A simple supplement if you are planning to watch films on your tray during the entire trip. I have seen many folks who don't use their telephones for conversation on a plane, keep their telephones in the luggage compartments.

It'?s a big mess, especially when you're sitting in the Fensterplatz. A few long flights will give you a handkerchief that they call an optimistic "blanket", but others won't. I' m bringing a Smartwool long-sleeved sweater that's hot but breathing. It' s noteworthy that it is probably cooler when you are at the windows, unless the heat is on this side than the corridor.

When you are in an initial line, this screen is almost always much cooler. For most long distance flights, the windows need to be lowered (or a 787, auto dimmed), but the cab lighting is still on (a little) so folks can see how they get up to sip.

There is another set of objects that you should have on (or near) your land. You will need to fill out a brief (and sometimes not so brief) information sheet in most jurisdictions. Air stewards almost never have replacement pins, and even if they do, they probably won't give them to you (they need them!).

Again, most pre-printed documents ask you to indicate where you are, along with your adress. There are the objects you should never try to get on an airplane, especially for overseas flights. Once I saw a lady trying to get a orange purse on a trip from Mexico to L.A., and she flipped out when she said she had to get rid of it.

When you have not been flying for a while, you cannot take large tanks of fluids through the safety check. Take a good early showers before your flights for the good of mankind, especially if you are trapped in an almost completely closed hose for 10hrs. So what do you always carry on your flights?
