The President's Commission of Inquiry into Cheating and Bribery at Sri Lanka Airlines and Mihin Lanka met again today (05 October). Proof was provided today by Fazli Razack, one of the leading members of the State Council of Sajith Bandara. A high-ranking member of Sri Lankan Airlines' financial division who testified before the Commission today said that the airlines were beaten with a fine of 735,000 US dollars for violating the conditions of a credit they had received from Mashrik Bank.
He also unveiled that 29 complimentary Bus Division seats had been given to an equivocal US consulting company called VIA Capital Partners. Their value was valued at 6.9 million US dollars or 67,391 US dollars. The Executive Management was not informed of this extra expenditure during the authorisation phase of the agreement and was not taken into account in the valuation.
Said the testimonee further explained that the Sri Lankan Airline's USD 450,000 deal with VIA Capital is not listed in the company's seals of approval.

Dubai Nishantha Wickremasinghe has assigned flat for women officers to Dubai.
From 2012 to 2014, the then SriLankan Airlines Chairman, Nishantha Wickremasinghe, had provided Rs.2.4 million for an appartment for a women Sales Support Officer in Dubai, but had previously been used as student housing, as reported to the SriLankan Airlines Commission earlier today. Yasantha Dissanayake, Head of Finances at SriLankan Airlines, SriLankan Catering and Mihin Lanka, SriLankan Airlines, SriLankan Head of Finances, Yasantha Dissanayake, notified the Presidential Commission of Inquiry (PCoI) of an irregularity at SriLankan Airlines, SriLankan Catering and Mihin Lanka that the then Chairman, Nishantha Wickremasinghe, had instructed the company's financial department to make a one-month payout for an appartment in Dubai which showed that it was an appartment for apprentices in Dubai, but that it was for a man named Shehani Rodrigo, a Sales Support Support for Dubai.
Said that the name of the respective sales employee and not the name of the firm is stated on the bills of the respective flat.
