riLankan Airlines is expanding its footprint in the northern central province of Sri Lanka and opening its newest passengers office in Anuradhapura to gain a greater stake in the domestic tourism industry. It was inaugurated on 20 May 2015 by Chief Minister North Central Province, Peshala Jayaratne.

This office will simplify itineraries for a wide range of customers in Anuradhapura County, including reservation processing, ticket processing, prepaid ticket advices (PTAs), specific service enquiries, tariff and package information, basically with the same selling service provided by any authorized SriLankan Airlines office.

It is the 9th Sri Lankan passenger sales office to be added to its existing local office networks in Jaffna, Hambantota, Vavuniya, Wennappuwa, Gampaha, Trincomalee, Aluthgama and Batticaloa. The SriLankan company has contracted Travel Care Global (Pvt) Ltd., which specialises in Buddhist pilgrimages to India to take care of air tickets, bookings, outdoor holiday and in-bound itineraries.

Lal Perera, Head of Worldwide Sales of SriLankan Airlines, said to the meeting: "As a domestic airline, SriLankan is committed to making its goods and service easily accessible throughout our Isle. Strategically positioned our new ticket office in Anuradhapura is an important sales opportunity that provides smooth service, reaches more prospects and increases our overall revenue.

In view of the increasing client bases for flights to and from the area, the operations of our partner airlines will expand the scope of the airline's regional client bases. Annuradhapura with many historical landmarks for inbound tourist has enormous tourist potentials and the opening of the PPE at this stage is a favorable step for the carrier.

Situated near Matara Bodhiya, the office offers simple customer service. Mr. Ranil Wagiswara and Mr. Khavan Perera, Deputy Chairman of Golden Key Travels (Pvt) Ltd. as well as SriLankan Airlines and Golden Key employees after the opening ceremony of the Matara Ticket Office.

Matara and Hambantota District clients no longer need to go to Galle but can get their flight ticket in Matara. This office offers a range of similar facilities to those available at the airline ticket office in Colombo. These include real-time connection to the SriLankan Airlinesâ system, which allows clients to receive immediate answers to enquiries, bookings, confirmation, special enquiries, etc.

Designed and embellished to maintain the look and atmosphere of a SriLankan Airlines office throughout the globe. Recent awards have included "Best Airline" in Central Asia / Subcontinent for four successive years, "Worldâs Friendliest Cabin Crew", First Runner-Up for "Worldâs Best Cabin Staff", "Worldâs Best Airline" in a Economy Passenger Review by Reise & Preise, "Worldâs Best Inflight Entertainment" for an air carrier with a 20 or smaller aircraft capacity by the International Association of Airlines Entertainment, and "Best Airlines Turnaround of the Year 2004".
