Taxi License Renewal

The license remains valid until TLC completes and authorizes your renewal request. When you have satisfied a request after the expiry of your license, you will be notified that you have a $25.00 default charge due. Delay fees can be payed at LARS. In the event of non-compliance, your license will be suspended until payment of the delayed charge that you must make on-line.

PLEASE NOTE: After passing the TLC test, you must check your car every 4 month at a NYS DMV certified test facility to maintain your car registration. Come to a DMV inspecting facility licenced by NYS to conclude your three-year period of work. There is no need to perform another DMV check at the TLC checkpoint until you update your driver's license or switch vehicles.

Drivers TLC (Hack) License renewal

You do not need to go to the NYC Taxi and Limousine Commission (TLC) if your taxi (hack) license needs to be renewed. Simply login to the TLC License Application Renewal System (LARS). Taxis and Limousine Commission only accept Visa, Master Cards, AMEX or Discover Visa payments, but you are paying for this convenience extra convenient fee: $6.27 .

Remember that you must perform and successfully test your product within thirty (30) business days immediately before your license expires.
