The Cessna 172, which has been in production since 1956 and has over 40,000 units, is a sturdy and dependable four-seater that is widely used by individuals and associations. FT field length balanced: Normal Cruise Speed KTAS: Load capacity - Full LBS fuel: Range - Seats Full N.M.: Floating costs per hour $:

LBS Usable Fuel: What is the cost of a Cessna 172? Aircraft (a Hawk-6 cyl. VP injection-moulded propeller) will take off and touch down in less than 300 m - an economics 110 knots -7 u.s. gals- trip - climbing at 1000 fpm@100knts-2 up. Very good for long haul driving - but also great for harsh brief landing in the fields. Recommended for any very economic - outstanding visibility.

That'?s my third plane. The Cessna 172 will be familiar to every driver and many will call it the Ford Mondeo of the sky - but it gets in and out everywhere - soft or tough - and drives comfortably with a large load capacity. It' all solid and weld-on, so it' s relatively cheap to maintain - and with over 43,000 parts built, spare parts are simple.

As Reims Cessna, it is corrosion-resistant from the outset. For those who are educated on low-wing planes, they have a tendency to hold on to the low wings - and some look sexier - but a high wings provides shadow in the blaze and protection in the rains - not to mention better down vision.

But the only earlier mistake was that it was made in 1969 and had the old Continental 145 hp motor - flat but slightly below the motor. Four years ago we modified all this - with an Air Plains 180 hp upgrade from a single O-360-A4M and now it will be flying at 130 knts just and at most.

Economical cruising is 110 kn and burns 35 liters. Featuring new color and new lens, she thinks she's an 182 and can work fairly accurately for less mileage. I have a plane for training - for tours - for instruments and rally sports - all at a reasonable cost.

Though the newer ones also have 180 hp - they initially lift a much higher deadweight - so the quick response, climbing rates and economics make mine better than the new ones. The Cessna 172 is in perfect working order, regardless of the costs of maintenance. Nine-ten aircraft.
