Monarch Flights

Searching for a Monarch for LGW to HER on 6.2.15 and return on 6.9.15, I made a reservation on Monarch. There were no flights on this date, the next one was 15.6.9. All right, so I had a look at the monthly screen that said no flights, the next one was 2/6/15(!!!) So I walked around and looped around without looking for anything.

Then I asked for other airfields on 15.6., it came out a complete listing (including Gatwick), but all flights except the one in Birmingham were with Small Planet. Can' t help but think that their program for the next few months is still under way, so they should be best prevented until the 100% clear positions are reached.

Unfortunately, Monarch Airlines ceased operation in October 2017. Also known as Monarch Airlines, Monarch Airlines was a UK carrier located at Luton Airport. The Monarch operated regular flights to Mediterranean countries, the Canary Islands, Cyprus, Egypt, Greece and Turkey. The Monarch Airlines Group was the UK's premier independently owned cruise group with main focus on regular air services, air charter and air transport.

Over the years Monarch Airlines has flown to many different cities such as Agadir, Gilbraltar, Funchal, Faro, Lisbon, Malaga, Almeria, Ibiza, Mallorca, Madrid, Barcelona, Menorca, Naples, Rome, Dubrovnik, Bodrum, Heraklion, Dalaman, Paphos, Tel Aviv, Ovda, Sharm el Sheikh, Hurghada and many more. Monarch's A320 and A321 fleets were part of its family. Monarch has established itself as a low-cost airline and offered its customers several additional passenger handling options.

Following the closure of long-haul operation, all Monarch planes are now fitted with an Economy cab. The Monarch also published an in-flight magazin with a guidebook, a chart of Monarch's holiday destination, a snack on the boat and shops.
