Group Hele-On Taxi Program
County of Hawai'i Mass Transit Agency offers the Hele-On Sharing Taxi Program in the urban area of Hilo to a nine miles drive from your point of departure within Hilo. Kwiki Taxis and Ace One have added an ADA barrier-free car to their fleets, which will be used for joint journeys and standard tariffs.
During the Hele-On Shared Rate program, attendees can take a cab anywhere in Hilo by buying taxicoupons in steps of one (1), five (5), ten (10) or fifteen (15). If you are travelling with the Hilo urban area, travelers who travel 0.1 to 4.0 mile must use one (1) voucher and travelers who travel 4.1 to 9.0 mile must use two (2) voucher.
One voucher booking (up to a total of 15 vouchers) per weekly can be bought at either the County of Hawai'i Mass Transit Agency Satellite Office, 25 Aupuni St, Hilo, HI 96720, Monday through Friday between 8:00 am. from 12:00 to 13:00 hours, except on public holiday or in the Mo'oheau Bus Terminal Information Center, 329 Kamehameha Avenue, Hilo, HI 96720, Monday to Friday between 8:30 and 16:30 hours...,
without the county's watched public holiday. Voucher booklets can be bought by post by downloading the Shared Ride Taxi Program order sheet. The passenger must enclose a copy of his/her photographic identification and a cheque to be paid to the Financial Director using the enclosed order slip. Travellers can cover up to nine (9) mile in connection with other passenger travelers by phoning one of the seven authorised cab operators that participate in the programme below and it is the passengers' responsibility to coordinate enquiries directly with the cab operator. Kailua-Kona:
