Within the private jet family of Elvis Presley

Elvis Presley, one of the world's most celebrated performers, was named King of Rock and Roll by his many supporters. Away from the scene, his lifestyle was no less memorable and comprised a flotilla of three private planes. The biggest fleets of its day were auctioned off to private buyers, one of which was recently auctioned off for $430,000.

Presley's first private jet became a Lockheed Jetstar in 1962, which the vocalist used for his journeys. The plane had a striking bright blue and reddish colour scheme and a richly coloured satin interior with wood surfaces. As one of only 204 airplanes made by Lockheed and Jetstar, it was a synonym for luxurious air travel for its age.

One of these aircraft costs 2.8 million dollars during the first run of manufacture, which corresponds to 22 million dollars after adjustment for the effects of the inflation. After Presley's first jet fell into decay and had no engine, it was auctioned for $430,000, a small portion of its originally produced value. One of the aircraft's conveniences was a small wall-mounted television set, a characteristic often found in private aircraft today.

This private jet also had a sofa that could be used as a berth during nights. There was also a bath room in the back of the plane. His initial estimated sale price was $2 million, but he did not manage to attract enough interest as a collector's piece without motors.

Presley's flag ship became the Convair 880 of 1960, which he bought from the U.S. carrier Delta Air for $250,000. And then the vocalist spend $600,000 to renovate the plane and turn it into a luxury private jet. Elvis recruited the same Elvis staff that had worked on Air Force One and had them build a master suite, meeting room, living room and TV room on the renamed Lisa Marie.

While a relatively small amount for a private jet from today's point of view, at the moment of buying, the airplane today costed him the equivalent of 7 million dollars. Presley had made a down payment on a Boeing 707 before buying the airplane, but the transaction came as its proprietor, the finance man Robert Vesco, had to escape to South America.

Elvis had the TCB emblem, which stands for "Taking Care of Business", painted on the back of the glider. The Lisa Marie, a luxury jet, was based at Memphis International Airport, together with the singer's two other planes, by its arrangement, also by today's standard. Presley's last flight was the one he took to his burial with his father.

Then Lisa Marie was brought back to her Memphis home where she had long stayed a favourite tourist destination. Besides a fully equipped master suite with an adjacent take-off and landing area, the plane also had a meeting room with a large desk and seven seating places.

After Presley's demise, metallic rods were placed around the various areas of the aircraft to avoid its many guests damage the interior. The aircraft was auctioned off by its former owners in 2015 and was set to earn at least $10 million even though it had been capable of flying for longer.

While he was awaiting ownership of his flag private jet that had just been rebuilt, the King of Pop resolved to purchase a second plane that could be used in the meantime. The Presley has chosen its own colour palette for the plane. With a couch and several chairs lifted over a center lane, the plane divided the specification of its initial plan.

With an unmistakable four-engine system installed at the back of the body, the Lockheed Jetstar was one of the most popular private jets of its age. Convair 880, which Presley made to measure, was an airplane that was mostly used as a business one.

They are no longer able to fly and today serve as private museum. As one of the most important culture icon of the twentieth centuries, Elvis Presley has to date been selling over a billion albums around the world. Elvis gave 1156 gigs in the USA and 3 in Canada during his carrier. Presley played in 31 films between 1956 and 1969, although they were far eclipsed by the great triumph of his musical carrier.

This foot is particularly striking in view of Presley's two-year break, as it was retracted by the US Forces. Presley has since been on the top ranks of the highest paid death row, with his legacy generating over $50 million in copyrights each year. In this division surpassed only by Michael Jackson, whose legacy since his death brought in over 2 billion dollars, Presley had one of the biggest private jet fleet of his age.

The privately held jet aircraft, run by Elvis Presley Enterprises, his real property firm in which his sole heiress, Lisa Marie Presley, acquired a controlling interest in a group of buyers, caused a great deal of dispute when they were to be marketed by the tourism centre.
