Salz & Stroh is now available on (some) Alaska Airlines flights.

From Saturday, June 16th, Portland's most beloved ice-cream parlour, Salt & Strow, will be available on Alaska Airlines in premium quality during lunches and dinners on long-haul routes and travel to Hawaii. The early flavours included sea salt with caramel ribbons with Fleur de Sel and Meyer Lemon Custard with blueberries, with new flavours added later in the year.

It is a collaboration of new initiative between the two West Coast enterprises. While Salt & Straw is now conducting a series of single-serving packs of icecream, Alaska early this season heralded a new face for the "First Class Experience". Meaning "fresh, locally sourced produce coupled with seasonally favorite foods" on the foods front, locally crafted delicacies (like the sweet Lady Jane Brownnies from California) and the emphasis on new West Coast vineyards and small breweries.

The new luxury articles also included comfortable quilted blankets, "enhanced service goods" and lavish lounge suites in JFK and Sea-Tac (planned for 2019). Now, individually portioned salt and straw irrigation packs. Obviously, if you fly from PDX, you could be saving a few hundred bucks by grabbing some of the same salt & straw from the Country Cat market place after safety and immediately sweeping it down like a hungry business mover.
