Dadar Taxi Stand

Bombay is known as the finance capitol of India. After spending my whole lifetime in New Delhi (22 years;)), I had the chance to visit Mumbai from August-October this year. There' a big distinction between the two towns, Delhi, is enormous, roomy and enjoying the "luxury" for which it is renowned, while Mumbai is more of a quiet, contented and tranquil town....

Any Delhiite should remain in Mumbai for a few month and the other way around because they are the two biggest Indian towns and they offer a big different way of life.

Taxis in Dadar, India

Cadar (Marathi: ????) is a neighborhood in the center of Mumbai and a well-known gateway with connections to the country and the area. The Mumbai Suburban Railway system splits the area into two large areas: "Dadar East" and "Dadar West". Nearly every part of the week is full, especially during festivals like Ganesh Fest or Deepavali.

There are many old neighborhoods, such as Chawls, and restaurants in the area that recall the predominant Mumbai (then Bombay) cultural life in the early days. The Dadar East Area has seen the transition to a large Saree Mall over a glorious stretch of a Bollywood celebrity night that has seen many Bollywood filmmakers visit the area's cinemas.

Measured and pre-paid cabs. For an overview, the measured cabs are those that are colored dark and amber, while the pre-paid cabs are those that are also known as Cool Cabs, which rank a/c. It is strongly recommended that you use the pre-paid taxi as you are paying the regular price for your journey (these taxes are counted with a tariff table).

You should use a pre-paid taxi to prevent such situation, as it is an offical federal taxi with set prices. However, ask the rider for the price before the journey and make sure that the measuring device is switched on. It is not recommended that you climb on non-licensed cabs as you run the risk of becoming a fraudster.

You can find taxi services at both national and multinational airports. The taxi desk is directly in front of the customs, at the exit of the airport on the right hand side. The tariff can be applicable to the taxi operators listed below. Concerning the pre-paid cabs, the tax rates are 500 - 600 INR and for the measured cabs 625 - 700 INR.

Sharing is available to those who wish to split a journey and would like to make a lump sum payment for specific destination if several groups are available for the journey.
