Act of the Senate 1492 and House Act 2171

The Senate Act 1492 and the House Act 2171, which amend the rules governing the servicing of taxis, limousines and vehicles, enter into force on 30 June 2016. The new legislation will significantly alter the car rental programme and approval procedure. The Senate Act 1492 and House Act 2171 contain the following provisions:

Supersedes the definitions of a business equipment licence by a rental licence for vehicles; Requirement that car rental firms have a 3-year rental car exhibited by ADOT to function in this condition; Requirement that each car used by a car rental firm has a copy of the licence; Limits the taximeter charge to $1,000 over 3 years for each car of the rental firm that operates cabs; Contracts a cab or car, a clearly legible inside plate in printed or electronical form or on a computer controlled local area map or computer controlled system; Contracts a cab or car, a clearly legible inside plate in printed or electronical form or on a computer controlled local area map or on a computer controlled computer controlled network; Contracts a cab or car, a well visible inside plate in printed or electronical form or on a computer controlled local area map or on a computer controlled local area map; Contracts the ADOT for the rental firm to have a 3-year rental car exhibited by ADOT to work in this condition

Company name and adress of the Approval Committee; a detailed description of all tariffs and the way the ticket prices are calculated; name of the chauffeur; must wear at least one clearly legible outer commercial suit (§28-9551), which must contain the words "taxi" or "cab"; increase sanctions under private law in the event of infringements; Removes the car for rental sticker; removes the issuing of revenue stamps; forbids a municipality or other fiscal authority to levy a privileged transfer duty (including a sale, use, deductible or similar tax) or charge on the gross revenue from the sale or rental of the following:

each amount due on charges levied by the authorised toll takers; carriage of hired personnel by TNC operators in operations that involve transport networking activities (TNS); carriage of hired personnel by vehicles for hired personnel in operations that involve vehicles for hiring activities; requiring the undertaking to employ an agents to operate the trial in this condition; and removing hail of roads from transport networking operators.

ADOT Vehicles for Hire Program is working to enforce this law by June 30, 2016.
