Taxicab Driver is a 1976 US neo-noir[4] psycho-thriller film[5] direct by Martin Scorsese, composed by Paul Schrader, featuring Robert De Niro, Jodie Foster, Cybill Shepherd, Harvey Keitel, Peter Boyle, Albert Brooks and Leonard Harris. The movie takes place in a dilapidated New York City after the Vietnam War and recounts the tale of a lone vet (De Niro) who works as a taxi driver, who crashes into madness while murdering a president contender (Harris) and then the friend's friend's pimp guy (Keitel), a minor sex worker (Foster).

Taxi Driver was highly praised after its publication and shortlisted for four Oscars, among them Best Picture, and won the Palme d'Or at the 1976 Cannes Festival. Frequently criticized by filmmakers, editors and the public, it is considered one of the greatest movies of all times. Sight & Sound voted the movie the 31st best movie of all times in 2012 in its ten-year critics' survey, rated The Godfather Part II, and the fifth largest movie ever directed by Sight & Sound.

Classified by the US Library of Congress as "culturally, historical, or esthetically significant," the movie was chosen for inclusion in the National Movie Registry in 1994.
