Fresno Airport

, also known under the IATA (International Air Transport Association) Code FAT and ICAO (International Civil Aviation Organization) Code KFAT, offers flights from multiple airlines to many popular global destinations.

New Yosemite Airport (IATA: FAT, ICAO: KFAT, FAA LID: FAT), is a common civil-military airport in Fresno, California. This is the main business airport for the San Joaquin Valley and three main natural parks: Yosemite, Sequoia and Kings Canyon. The company operates regular air services to several large hub airports in the United States and operates regular air services to Mexico.

This airport is run and managed by the town of Fresno and has two take-off and landing strips on 699 hectares of land. The airport abbreviation "FAT" means "Fresno Airport Terminal", a former name for the airport. Because of its position in the centre of the state, the airport houses several army, police, fire and medicine aerials.

Fresno Air National Guard Base at the southeastern edge of the airport houses the California Air National Guard's 144th hunting wing. Fresno Air Attack Base on the east side of the airport provides support for fire-fighting planes. The other state and army airport operator with airport amenities are the California Army National Guard, the California Highway Patrol, the Fresno County Sheriff's Office and the Fresno Police Department.

Fresno has a large operating basis for SkyWest Airways, the country's biggest local carrier. In the course of its existence, Fresno was the head office of at least three carriers. Far West Airways was established in Fresno in the mid-1980s and used the airport as a small domestic gateway for Burbank, Los Angeles, Modesto, Oakland, Orange County, Sacramento and San Jose.

Air 21 was established in Fresno in January 1994 and circulated between several towns in the West before it ceased operating in January 1997. Allegiant Air was established in Fresno in January 1997, and its head office was in the downtown area until its insolvency in 2000, and the new CEO relocated its head office to a Las Vegas outskirts parking at the Fresno Yosemite International Airport gates.

SkiWest is a significant Fresno-based company with a servicing station and a flight crew station at the airport. Fresno Yosemite International Airport's longest continuous airline is United Airlines, which already served the airport on the opening date. Although United did not directly provide the services to Fresno for about two years, but relocated the services to Sky-West in the mid-1990s, which provides services as United Express.

On August 15, 2017, United relaunched long-distance services between Fresno and its San Francisco hubs, mirroring the increase in rail travel. On June 7, 2018, United Airlines began non-stop long-distance services between Fresno Yosemite International Airport and Chicago's O'Hare International Airport, underscoring United's dedication to serving the Fresno area.

26 ] The Fresno - Chicago U.S. Airline is the longest non-stop connection to or from Fresno Yosemite International Airport with 1,730 mile, providing the only non-stop connection to the Midwest. The other state and army airport operator with airport amenities are the California Army National Guard, the California Highway Patrol, the Fresno County Sheriff's Office and the Fresno Police Department.

The Fresno Area Express (FAX) provides two bus services to the airport, each every half hour. 46 ] Route 26 Palm / Butler is between the airport and North Fresno via Southeast and Downtown Fresno (where passenger can change to other FAX routes). The route 39 FYI/Clinton is between the airport and West Fresno.
