What do you do to create a receipt?

Receiving a credit can be as easy or as difficult as you want, as long as it suits your needs and those of your customers. A receipt can be as easy as a receipt or as informal as a scrawled note on a sheet of hard copy. As an alternative, they can also be quite sophisticated, such as a table calculation with order numbers, scheduled renewal invoices and payments.

Each receipt of funds should contain the name of the company that made it out, the date the deal took place, the articles bought and the amount computed. A lot of documents also contain the name of the client, especially if the document is a completed order or if the purchaser and vendor are involved in on-going relationships.

Once the client has placed an order, the order number should also appear on the receipt so that the purchaser can refer to it. For a purchaser who has already purchased a good or services, it is useful to have a record of how this has been done. An incoming call can also contain information about the actual transaction - e.g. whether it was made with money, cheque or debit cards.

Paying attention to your balance is particularly important, as unlike cheques and bank cards, you cannot verify your balance retroactively. Besides indicating the method of paying, it is also useful for the client to indicate a cheque number or the last four numbers of the type of debit used.

Receipt of payments may also contain the conditions of purchase, e.g. whether all purchases are definitive or whether articles can be converted within 30 working days when the invoice is presented by the client. Vouchers for payments are important fiscal documentation that proves the operating expenditure that you are writing off on your fiscal paper.

It is also essential to have a receipt - if you have a problem with the purchased product. Incoming payments serve as evidence of receipt so that you can either change or send back the goods.
