She is a daughter of the Small Planet Group, which also possesses several affiliated societies. Previously known as FlyLAL Charters, the firm was incorporated on 14 March 2007.

Since October 2008, the air carrier has been licensed to commence operating commercial airliners.

FlyLAL Charter Eesti, a daughter airline, was incorporated in 2009 with the objective of offering charter services to and from Estonia. Another flyLAL Charters PL enterprise was incorporated in December 2009 to operate services from various Polish aerodromes (Warsaw, Katowice, Gdansk). FlyLAL Charters was authorised in 2010 to operate regular services to Greece, Spain, Italy and various other destinations.

flyLAL Charters was changed into its present name Small Planet Airlines in July of the same year. In 2009 and 2010 FlyLAL Charters transported 400,000 charter guests; in 2012 the re-named Small Planet Airlines raised the number to almost 0.7 million charter guests. Small Planet Airlines in April 2013 announces the acquisition of 99.5% of the Avia Solutions Group's stakes in Small Planet Airlines UAB (Lithuania) and Small Planet Airlines Sp. z o. o. "(Poland).

Following the deal, Small Planet Airlines belonged to Vytautas Kaikaris and Andrius Staniulis, the company's senior managers. 2 ] In 2014, the Small Planet Group was founded as a parent to take responsibility for Small Planet Airlines in Lithuania and Poland. The Small Planet Group UAB holds 100 per cent of the stakes in the recreational airline Small Planet Airlines UAB and 90 per cent of the stakes in Small Planet Airlines Sp. z o. o.[3] The parent holds 100 per cent of UAB Small Planet Airlines, 100 per cent of Small Planet Airlines Sp. z o. o., 80 per cent of Small Planet Airlines GmbH (Germany) and 49 per cent of Small Planet Airlines (Thailand).

Small Planet Airlines formed a Thai based airline in December 2014 with the intent of obtaining a Municipal Aer ial Operator's Certification (AOC) and flying internationally from Thailand to China and South Korea. Small Planet Airlines launched itself on the domestic markets in Germany in 2015 with the founding of Small Planet Airlines GmbH, whose Berlin offices were located.

During September 2015, the firm heralded that several airplanes (and cockpit crews) would be moved to Southeast Asia in the next 5 consecutive winter seasons to fly from Siem Reap, Cambodia to China, South Korea and Vietnam on contract to Cambodia's Sky Angkor Airlines. Throughout the 2016 wintry seasons, several Small Planet Airlines Poland aircrafts and crew were stationed in India and Saudi Arabia and were operating on contract to locals.

The aircraft and crews were deployed in India on contract from GoAir and in Saudi Arabia on contract from Nesma Airlines. In late March 2017 it was published that Small Planet Airlines had received a licence to operate flights to and from Schiphol Airport in the Netherlands, which mainly serves southern Europe.

Small Planet Airlines returned to India in 2017/2018 and operated on IndiGo's order from its Delhi headquarters. flyLAL Charters flown 33,600 passenger in June 2009 and was the biggest operator at Vilnius Airport this past months, even bigger than scheduled airlines. At the end of the year flyLAL Charters had a combined 85%hare.

More than 700,000 travellers travelled from all locations in Lithuania, France, Poland and Great Britain to Small Planet Airline in 2012. By 2013, Small Planet Airlines was the first limited liability Lithuania airline to flown one million passenger. Its main destinations are Greece, Spain, Tunisia, Turkey, Egypt and Bulgaria. UAB Small Planet Airlines works together with the big tour operators Tez Tour and Novaturas in Lithuania.

It also offers charter services, flyin' governments missions, sport crews and other privately owned groups. Small Planet Airlines' LLX5288 was an Airbus A320 from Malaga, Spain, to Tampere, Finland on 25 October 2016. When the aircraft stepped into the Dutch Maastricht skies at 12:34 GMT, the crews approached sky patrol and announced a possible hijack.

Airplane resumed its usual flying until it arrived in Finland air space, where it introduced a waiting sample. Plane arrived securely at Tampere-Pirkkala International Airfield at 15:02 GMT.
