Reyovac had been based in Wisconsin since its founding as The French Battery Company in 1906. It produces and distributes household electrical goods under the Remington, Black & Decker, George Foreman and Russell Hobbs brands, grass and horticultural maintenance under the Spectracide and Garden Safe brands, and flyscreen under the Cutter and Repel brands.

3 ] Spectrum possesses several livestock businesses, both in supplying aquariums and in the trade with pets. Spectrum has Tetra, Whisper, Marineland, Perfecto, Jungle, Instant Ocean, Visi-Therm and other products in its tank family. Accompanying livestock line consists of Dingo, Lazy pet, Wonderbox and others. Spectrum's United Pet Group, headquartered in Cincinnati, Ohio, concentrates both the fish tank and accompanying line segments.

When ESB Industrials' mother company took over the company, a UK affiliate was set up to produce and distribute battery products in the UK under the Ray-O-Vac name. The company was closed down in 1972; Ray-O-Vac battery packs were still sold, although they were produced by the UK company Ever Willy. In 1988 the name was changed to Rayovac.

Racovac also purchased other batteries such as Varta, Ningbo Baowang and Microlite S.A. The Microlite takeover comprised the right to the name Racovac in Brazil, giving the company global ownership of the same name. As a result of this transaction, RYOVAC strengthened its position in most Latin American markets.

It is a well-known trademark in this area. Spectrum applied for insolvency insurance under Section 11 on February 3, 2009. 10 ] The company later went bankrupt on 28 August 2009. Since Spectrum came out of Section 11, the company has reported a year-on-year increase in revenue and underlying EBITA for the second three months of its 2010 year.

Reyovac, as a Division of Spectrum Brands, stayed based in Madison, Wisconsin, along with Remington, while the Spectrum Brands mother company had its head office in Georgia. Spectrum Brands today announces that it will move its corporate head office back to Madison. The Spectrum Brands company relocated its head office to Middleton, Wisconsin in October 2013.

SPECTROLABRADS has completed a transaction with Russell Hobbs Inc. Salton, Inc. (formerly known as Salton, Inc.) on June 16, 2010 to create a new $3 billion dollar global convenience goods company.
