Persons applying for the renewal of their taxi driver's license must have undergone the required compulsory further education. If you are the first applicant or renew your taxi driver's license more than two years after the expiration date, you must have passed both the theoretical and hands-on exams before you can apply for the exam.

By submitting your PV15 request, we are validating your on-line access NI request to ensure that the personally identifiable information matches the ID you provided. Monitoring the progress of your NI applications is possible using the access credentials you create. Documentation required for your Access NI exam may differ from that required to assist your right to work in the UK.

Ensure that the documentation you provide with your PV15 applications covers both. Once the Access NI exam is completed, Access NI sends the NI directly to you. Although a police register does not necessarily prevent you from having a taxi driving license, if you have been sentenced for a serious crime, you may not be entitled to a driver's license until at least three years have elapsed from the date of the sentencing or, if a person has been sentenced to imprisonment, from the date of your discharge from jail.

If you apply, you must provide particulars of any conditions that may impair your ability to work as a taxi driver. If you are a first-time applicant and over 45 years of age, you must have a TLM1 from your family doctor. Upon receipt of your TLM1 membership request, we will mail you a TLM1 medicine registration sheet.

You may need to take further tests based on the information it contains, or your family doctor may supply further information that may postpone a license determination. Medicinal standard for taxi driver is higher than for motorist. Taxidrivers must comply with the same exacting standard of medicine as applies to busses and trucks (Group 2).
