The McDonnell Douglas DC-9-15s from Air Canada were used until 1968, a McDonnell Douglas DC-9-32CF was used until 1977 for freight flight, the McDonnell Douglas DC-9-32s from 1967 to 2002. The Air Canada Canadair CRJs were used from the mid-1990s to the early 2000s when they were sold to the Air Canada Jazz subsidiary, Jazz Air LP, under the name Air Canada Jazz.

The Boeing 767-200ER Air Canada squadron was decommissioned by the end of 2008. McDonnell Douglas DC-10 airplanes were powered from 1979-2000 by Canadian Pacific Airlines and its successor CP Air and Canadian Airlines. Boeing 737-200s were powered from 1968-2000 by Canadian Pacific Airlines and its successor CP Air and Canadian Airlines.

Following the Canadian Airlines acquisition, Air Canada operates these planes in a two-tier fixed -line and Air Canada Tango and Zip Low Costs Carrier brands in an all-Economy class environment. Airplanes that Air Canada has been operating since 1937 but are no longer in the fleet:

The British Aerospace FAe 146-200 and Fokker F28 jets were used by Air Canada's local airlines through code-sharing arrangements. It was also the only carrier of the Vickers Vanguard Propeller in North America. There are three Air Canada class services: Business/Signature, Premium Economics and Business. Signature Class, Premium Economy Class and Economy Class are offered on most long distance and short-haul flights served by wide-body jets;[36][38] most short-haul and inland flights are in Business Class and Economy Class.

The Air Canada Express offers Business Classic and Business Classic on CRJ900 and Embraer 175 planes; all other Air Canada Express planes have single cabin economies. WiFi is fitted to all narrow-body long-haul jets, Air Canada Express Bombardier CRJ900s and Embraer 175s, and is used on all wide-bodyjets.

In North America, Business Class is Air Canada's premier class service. The Embraer 190 (Mainline) and Embraer 175 and CRJ900 (Air Canada Express) feature a 1 to 2-side tilt seating arrangement, with a tilt of approximately 120 and a width of 20 inch (0.51 m). 37 ] On Airbus and Boeing small aeroplanes, the 2:2 seating arrangement is parallel, with an inclination of 124 and a width of 0.53 metres (21 inches).

The Air Canada Rouge flies its planes with a luxury cruise ship in Economical Grade called Premier Rouge. All small jets have an additional seating position with leg room in the front row and front row of the cab, providing up to 4 inch (0.10 m) more tilt (normally at least 35 inches).

Air Canada Rouge offers Rouge Plus seating on all Air Canada Rouge models, the same as the Preferred seat, but with up to 6-inch ( "0.15 m") more tilt (35" for A319 and 36" for 767) and an extra 2-inch ("0.051 m") backrest. CRJ200, Dash 8-100/300/Q400 Air Canada Express services provide an onboard cash and refresh facility.

Air Canada's Aeroplan is Air Canada's airline loyalty reward programme that enables you to earn and spend points as well as earn Air Canada customers loyalty and awards. When Air Canada and Aeroplan modified the distribution of points collections and points redeeming, Air Canada implemented an in-house reward scheme, Altitude. Air Canada presented its new Air Canada Altitude programme on 20 September 2012 to complement Aeroplan.

Air Canada has five stages of High Altitude Program membership: The Air Canada Altitude Member Program Miles are computed annually (January 1 to December 31) to calculate the Altitude Member Program for the following performance year (March 1 to February 28). As of January 1, 2016, Air Canada required a reserve spending threshold for each tier, the Altitude Qualifying Dollar, for the 2017 state year.
