Set in the historical 150-year-old Princess of Monaco Court and Carriage House on Royal Street in the Western Quarter, Cafe Amelie is a unique blend of Louisiana tables set in a sumptuous, charming New Orleans patio. Opened in 2005, Cafe Amelie quickly became a favourite with local residents and visitors from New Orleans, who plunge into the coffee shop to enjoy tasty dishes and fresh coctails.

The Café Amelie is known for its wonderful and charming courtyard in the neighbourhood, where guests can eat outdoors or in the beautifully air-conditioned halls of the historical carriage house. The Café Amelie and the Princess of Monaco Courtyard are also available for your personal party, wedding or reception.

Cafe Amelie's kitchen is unique, with delicious seasonal produce, small meals, snacks, sandwiches as well as imaginative meals such as locally prepared sautéed glass prawns. There is a wines and cocktails section for a fluid companion; try Amelie, a cool drink of absolute wodka, green lemon and mixedint. Everyone goes to one of the city's most beautiful and picturesque outside facilities."

Amelie Miltonberger, dam of the first American princess of Monaco, Alice, who was living in an adjoining town house here in New Orleans in the 1850s, is the eponym of Cafe Amelie. Cafe Amelie, founded in 2005, is known for its beautiful, charming inner court, littered with luxuriant leaves and wells. Guests can eat outdoors or relax in the air-conditioned halls of the historical coach house of Cafe Amelie.
