It'?s from downtown: It is only 2.5 nautical miles from Juneau city centre (where cruises call). The taxi service is available from any place and many hotel offers a free shuttleservice. Please click here for information on local transport in the city centre. From the train depot in the city centre, take buses 3 or 4 opposite the Hangar am Warf and get off at the Hospital stop.

When you have your own car, take Egan Driving northbound. When you leave the city centre (after the exit 10. Straße/Douglasbrücke), the first traffic lights you will see are at the point where you turn off. Take a bend in Channel Drive and turn right until it is aligned with Egan drive.

The Macaulay Salmon Hatchery is the large, red-roofed gray house on the right side of the street. Visitors' car parks are on the right-hand side when you enter the car park. On the Egan Drive (also known as Glacier Highway), the Juneau major motorway, we drive southwards towards the city centre. Once you have passed the Vanderbilt Drive lights, look out for the small bay fishing plaque on the right side of the motorway and take the right turn into the turn-off track that appears just after the plaque.

Turn right at the Hospital/Channel Drive traffic lights into Channel Drive and continue until you see the Brüterei (a large red-covered gray building) on your right.
