Tips for cabbies in Portugal

About is available in Portugal, but it is not the only cab application you can use here. Now there are several other cab applications like Taxify, MyTaxi and Cabify, and more and more cab applications are starting all the while. Over can be costly, especially if the price increase starts.

When it rains, it is a good idea to have another cab application at your fingertips. A lot of taxis offer you the possibility to take your first free trip when you register. Register with other applications and let your spouse and your friend do the same, and you can take a free cab trip - for a while anyway.

See below for the free travel applications and the corresponding rebate code. There'?s no need to imagine. It is the most popular cab application, and this means that it usually also has the most driver. When you are in the center of Lisbon, you should be able to take a cab with Uber, Cabify, Taxify or any of the other cabs.

However, if you are just outside the downtown area, your next Cabify or Taxify rider may be 10-15 min away. Often there are no riders around and you don't even have to be so far from the center to get there. Compared to this, because they have so many riders, an over-driver can be less than 5 mins away.

Well, that doesn't mean Uber's perfectly good. If it begins to raine in Portugal and it comes to high prices, Uber can be high. If that happens, you will definitely want to have some of the other cab applications at your fingertips. With respect to getting a drive, and getting a drive quickly, however, Uber is definitely the best.

It is available in Lisbon, Porto, Madeira and the Algarve and will hopefully soon be available in other towns such as Coimbra and Braga. The Cabify is basically about the Spanishspeaking and Portuguese-speaking worlds. The company has a large footprint in Spain, Mexico and Brazil and is expanding in Argentina, Chile, Peru and Colombia. It is also available in Portugal, but only in Lisbon, Porto and Madeira. Cabify seems to differ in that it is the upscale cabbing.

You should tip your cabbie ( or over-driver )? There is no tip policy in Portugal, and there are no regulations on how much to tip in a restaurant. The use of a cab application means that you will not pay the cab fare in money, so it can make the tip a little more unpleasant (here is one euro for your problems).

A few applications, like Uber, allow you to do it through the application, so you can do it this way if you like. Did you use one of those cab-apps to explore Portugal?
