More recent models ("normal") are usually recalibrated for the new tariffs, but there is still a possibility that they are not.

However, all measured cabs have a flap text on the back of the seats stating that you have a statutory right to a receipt and a number that you can call if you are dissatisfied with the services. And I don't think a rider was able to give me a receipt.

There is a statutory obligation for taxi drivers to produce receipt and they must meet the statutory requirements by the end of the year. There is a sitemap of the sm taxi company available on infotaxi.org/philippines_taxi/manila_taxi.htm, but I can't add a note for each service. new counters are issuing receipts....old counters aren't...meter spent receipt.....
