This Sushi Tei spout, which is now on the fifth level of Takashimaya, is behind and taller and better than before. It is much wider and the inside has facing tiles and rock with hot shades of bronze to give a generous atmosphere of urbanity, while maintaining the Zen-like atmosphere that is common to all Sushi Tei shops.
In order to mark this step, the top quality food retailer (yes, Sushi Tei was actually created right here in Singapore) has introduced a unique "We are Back" advertising dinner that is now available until July 31, 2012. Offering delicious specialities only available in this shop, the menue features a range of modern traditional and contemporary traditional Japanese meals that are sure to delight the taste buds.
Kani Pitan Tofu ($6) and Vietnam Harumaki ($8) are two great but very different decisions if you want something really well. Zuwai Kani Pitan Tofu is a cool starter clothed in a delicious, spicy centuries-old eggsauce, enriched with three profitable ingredients: fly fishingrogen, chopped centuries eggs and Zuwai beef (a kind of prawn).
Vietnam Harumaki, on the other side, is a fresh, Vietnam-inspired variant of Vietnam's original maciosushi. Packed in soft travel wrapping tissue, this delicious snack offers delicious trimmings like Avocado and shrimpflesh. And for something harder, order either the fleshy Kinchaku Age ($6) or the very large Kurenai Roll ($12).
Enthusiasts of roasted crispy knödeln would like to enjoy the hen and the Kinchaku age filled with pig meat, while those who appreciate interesting flavors should opt for the Kurenai roll. Kurenai Roll is an intricately crafted meal and a genuine shellfish treat that offers a variety of flavors and texts, layers by layers.
Crunchy sugary shrimps of the class Zashimi are crumbed and roasted before being wound up with fresh diced pickles and mangoes and dragged with juicy Zuwai crayfish. If some like it sexy, so if you are one of these people, take Sushi Tei's reinterpretation of the classical soup meal, Tan Tan Tan Chasoba.
Sushi Tei offers three icecream flavors for this particular promotional meal to please your sweets. Developed for yoghurt lovers, this desert features an interesting blend of aromas resulting from the spicy flavor of yoghurt and the full-bodied flavor of whipped cream on top of a coat of roasted muesli.
Rounded off with a ball of Yuzu peel-tipped citrus icecream, this ensures a perfect fresh taste in your spring! One of my own favourites (I have never eaten such good icecream ), the aromas of this classical strawberry cake are enhanced by using whole instead of low-fat milks.
Combined with matching ice creams and matching greenbacks, this delicacy provides alternate touches in every mouthful, from the cornflake crash and the creamy sweetness of the green ones to the spring iness of the bites of Shiratama-Mochi. As well as its own promotional meal, Sushi Tei has added new meals to its a la cart menus in all the shops around the islands.
Ranging from basic starters like Ika Okura ($5. 20), lady's finger and cuttlefish and Tarako no Umani ($5. 20), steamed codroug, to tasty meals like Salmon Enoki Roll ($8), Gold Mushroom salmon, Kaki Yanagawa ($10), Ostrich with Velcro and Eggs, and an interesting Sea Shells Ram Lettuce, Kaisen Ram Lettuce ($16), you'll be spoiled for choices.
Apart from these decisions, two meals that you must try from the new a la cartte menus are Kani Mentai Mayo Rol ($8) and Karei Saikyo Duke for $15. Rolled up in shrimp meats served with menui-ayonnaise ( "cod roe"), surmounted by delicious wafer-thin scraps of roasted carrots, the plain flatfish stuffed with adding butter aromas is known to be delicious.
