The way I was flying around the world in business class for $1,340.

Recently I made a Business Class booking for a return flight from Minneapolis to Shanghai. At the end of the Minneapolis photography seasons, where I made portrait and bridal photography, I had to return to China to teach English again. There was a whole weekend to go between the two towns, so I was planning the most crazy round-the-world pop.

Costing 90,000 nautical miles traveling between North America and North Asia in Business Class, I bought 30,000 US Airways nautical miles for $1,200 and got the last 30,000 nautical miles free. Actually, despite my reservation with US Airways, none of my departures were connected to this airline. This is a reasonable rate in the business between Minneapolis and Shanghai, and a good rate to travel in business class around the world. My kayak quick-search would have shown it would have taken anywhere between $5,000 in money to travel to my appointments between Minneapolis and Shanghai Business Class and $19,000 to travel around the world.

It was unbelievable the real planes were there. Feeling a little odd, I didn't really need the business class aviation expertise. However, it was really awesome to have shallow berths in the skies and to enjoy multiple course menus on every plane. What's more, it was really great to have the opportunity to bounce around the world for a fortnight.
