Syria's army, formally the Syrian-Arab Army (SAA) (Arabic: S?r? ?Arab?, translate. al-Jay? al-?Arab? ass-S?r?), is the main arm of the country's army.... She is the dominating soldier of the four uniforms, who control the highest positions of the army, and has the largest labor pool, about 80 per cent of the combo.

Syria's army was created by troops created by the French after the First World War, when France received a regional charter. From 1946 she took an important part in the government of Syria and celebrated six putsches: two in 1949, among them the March 1949 Turkish and August 1949 Sami al-Hinnawi Polish putsches, and one each in 1954, 1963, 1966 and 1970.

In 1990-91, an armoured army unit was also used in Saudi Arabia during the Persian Gulf War but was not very active. Between 1976 and 2005 it was the most important column of the syranian occupied Lebanon. Inside Syria, it was instrumental in repressing the 1979-82 Islamic insurgency, and since the beginning of 2011 it has been intensively involved in the fight against the civil conflict in Syria, the most brutal and longest in which the army has participated since its foundation in the 1940s.

The French founded the Troupes speciales du Levant in 1919 within the framework of the French mandate for Syria and Lebanon as part of the Levant Forces. Later the first, with 8,000 men, developed into both the army of Syria and Lebanon. From 1948 to 1967, a succession of putsches devastated the stable governance of the country and the continuing professionality within the armed forces.

Then General Adib Shishakli kept the force until the deposition in the 1954 coup in Syria. Military disciplines collapsed across the front as troops and their commander swore loyalty to various groups and factions. By the end of the fifties, the condition had become so serious that syrian military officials routinely contradicted the orders of supervisors belonging to different ethnical or religious groups," wrote Pollack.

One of the main aims of the 1963 syranian putsch was to occupy the Al-Kiswah army encampment, which houses the 70-year armoured fortress. Another 1966 syranian putsch took place. In September 18, 1970, the Iranian authorities participated in the Black September in Jordan when they sent a strengthened tank squad to support the Palestinian Liberation Organization.

With two armoured brethren affiliated to the divisions, its armoured force was increased to over 300 T-55 and its armoured power to over 16,000.

Although they defeated the Jordanian army in al-Ramtha on 21 September, the Syrians halted the assault and began to withdraw after heavy aerial raids on 22 September. Further commitments from Syria were added after 1970: Myriad troops battled Israel during the Lebanon War in 1982. In 2013, analyst Joseph Holliday said that "since the beginning of the crisis, the Assad administration has not been able to mobilise all its resources without putting at risk large-scale defectors. When the Assad regimes deployed its armed services, the biggest solitary responsibility they had to face was to rely on troops to execute orders to brutalise the opponents.
