Srilankan Airlines Marginal Airlines of All Times - sri lanka forum

January 6, 2011, 9:28 am A few months ago I had the most terrible travel experiences with the Sri Lanka Airlines and wanted to split them with those considering flying with them. First, I will be sharing the good experiences with the trip to Sri Lanka, our flight back was a real bad dream. My 2 year old and my friends went from Paris to Colombo over the holiday season.

One of the restrooms didn't work. Terrible thing was she came back. and it was a one-and-a-half hours flight from Colombo to Heathrow, and it was a no-dream. and the airplane was even older than the one we were in before.

At the end of the first supper they had after the start, they all went to sleep in the back with the drapes on. There are no beverages, no refreshments that will be delivered after 7hrs. Had to go to the tail of the airplane and ask for gravy and she could give me something.

Also, I saw a serving trays full of different juice standing on the edge waiting to be serviced that was not serviced until 4hrs later ( which we declined to serve as the OJ had sat out). They eventually serviced us the next food and lesson before we arrived at Heathrow.

And when we got there, we were starving and exhausted from a hell of a flight. When SL promotes their tourist activities, they should at least upgrade their flight schedule and perhaps employ a skilled team. December 16, 2012, 21:59 I had a connection flight with a seperate carrier in Rome with another carrier which I have missed and which costs me a great deal of moneys.

Had you been travelling with 2 different ticket numbers, this would have been the case with all airlines. Failure to make a reservation is not the fault of either one. December 30, 2012, 12:45 pm yes, some airlines come some period too late, that' normally, those are planes and can break at any moment, it can be a brandnew aircraft, but you are still at great risks, so we as travellers should anticipate this kind of delay, but I am hopeful that Srilanan Airlines serve their customers better than any other airlines, We should not be disturbed just because of one person, Jan.

18, 2013, 14:32 Best flight crews on twelve departures with two children each per flight in 2012, good meals, outstanding services. Mine six and eight years are insane for Srilankan. Between three and five years old, they liken a pea to a airplane "Be my visitor to tell what they mean". Sri Lanka Airlines is like the Sri Lanka nation "amazing".

30, 2013, 12:11 p.m. I concur with the most horrible airlines day ever. I' ve just come back from a complete bad dream in Sri Lanka. Don't complain about the flight because we weren't allowed on the plane! From Colombo I flew to Singapore with the Sri Lanka carrier and in the late afternoon I had a running flight in Busklasse with another carrier to Australia.

On the previous evening we had visited the website of the Sri Lankan Airlines and allocated places via "Manage my bookings". A confirmation of the seat order was sent to me by e-mail. Following a violent dispute and showing my confirmation of reservation and the website that clearly displayed the reservation, we were informed that the reservation was not in the computer system and we would have to await her opening at 8am to see if it was a computer-fault.

The flight left at 7 a.m. We were detained in a room for 9 hrs without even a supply of fresh soap. Eventually we were accompanied to their London based office which was equipped with WLAN so we could make "our own" agreement about an obviously missing flight (business glass) Singapore/Gold Coastline.

There was a lady who asked us to go rude because the lounges were only for businessmen and 1. Class passengers. We were pushed on an Emirates flight to Singapore after another 2 hours in a small room. As it was a vacation period, all flights were really full and after an unplanned trip to Singapore we were able to buy places on Qantas for $1500 each.

There is no possibility of taking out cover as the Sri Lanka Airline will not give us the required confirmation to confirm their account. I and my husbands are traveling 3 to 4 trips a year with different airlines for free as well as work. All my life I NEVER came across such discompetence or was 100% at the expense of the airline so poorly handled.

February 20, 2013, 1:25am I concur Sri Lankan Airlines is the poorest carrier we've ever been on. From Toronto we flew with Air Canada with a Sri Lankan Airlines from London Heathrow to Colombo, Sri Lanka. We were shocked to hear from the SLA agent after a 9 hour flight over New Ark that we had no reservation on the flight because Aircanada had canceled our flight.

There was a booking confirmation from our agency that we were actually booking with our seating numbers verified. This was a shocking moment for us because this is the first occasion that we have been refused certified reservations. After about an hour and several violent debates they found us two places near the washroom, quite stinking and there we stayed several ours in Colombo.

By the time we got to Colombo, we were impolite in shock when we found out that my wife's pocket had not been received and had been accidentally sent to Mumbai. Because of the bad quality of the aircraft managed, old and filthy, I would not suggest this company. February 20, 2013, 6:35 pm Everyone has his opinions about airlines, not necessarily favorable.

Being Sri Lanka I have gained good and bad impressions with some of the world's most innovative airlines like Emirates, Qatar & Cathay, but that is all part of your flight impression. Nevertheless, we all have the option of selecting an air carrier, but we still choose to travel on a cheap flight to meet our budgets.

What is the best thing for everyone to ask themselves, is it really valuable to fly with an air company that is costly, has a 5-star rate or a cheap air company with compromise services? Usually there are one or two members of the flight crews at the rear of the aircraft! However, you can always go to both galleys on the airplane and enjoy any food and drinks you like, this is what Sri Lanka calls "hospitality".

And yes, I have traveled with many low cost airlines and accepted the fact that "you get what you buy for". Despite many e-mails to Sri Lanka airlines, I am still awaiting an answer regarding the things they did to me in January. February 21, 2013, 4:06am I had no trouble with Sri Lanka Airlines.

I have used other airlines in the past and found that the aircraft are much newer, but that is from London to their base in the Midwest, from there to Colombo is a switch to an older, much narrower aircraft. I' d rather be paying a little more for a one-way flight.

If the airlines of Sri Lanka were to get their hands on some newer planes, then I would not have any problems at all.....
