Yeti Airlines

The Yeti Airlines Pvt. is an air carrier headquartered in Kathmandu, Nepal. Founded in May 1998, the carrier obtained its Air Operators Certificate on 17 August 1998. Jeti Airlines is the mother of Tara Air. Together, the two airlines constitute the biggest national carrier in Nepal.

The Yeti Airlines Group owns a portfolio of eight aircrafts and provides national services to ten different airports. Together, Yeti Airlines and Tara Air make up the biggest local carrier in Nepal, holding more than 60% of the overall Nepalese passenger traffic in January 2008. Together, Yeti Airlines and Tara Air have the biggest local carrier networks of any Nepalese carrier and serve most Nepalese destination.

Tara Air's STOL planes service most of Nepal's secluded populations living in outlying areas [4], while Yeti's ATR 72-500s & 41s Jetstream planes service the larger local airfields. In 2017 Yeti Airlines purchased two ATR 72-500s and in 2018 two ATR 72-500s,[5] Yeti Airlines is currently one of two airlines operating these planes in the country alongside Buddha Air.

In Nepal, Necon Air was the only other provider of an ATR. Yeti Airlines started Fly Yeti as a Yeti Air Arabia JV in 2007. As a result of being politically uncertain, the carrier discontinued operation in 2008. Yeti Airlines founded Himalaya Airlines, another Chinese Tibet Airlines based JV, in 2014.

This is a fast 30-minute ride in a clean and maintained turboprop. Kind hostesses have just enough spare manpower to distribute groundnuts and hot showers. It was my first trip on a plane to Germany. So we took the plane to see it happen. And for a 25-minute ride, the escort lady provided us with cocaine, groundnuts and sweets.

Probably a 30-seater plane. It' comfortably enough for shorter journeys. There is no conversation or WLAN as this is a short-haul airplane. It is a truly exceptional adventure when you fly in and out of Lukla. Cheapest and best flights from Kathmandu to Pokhara. About 20 minutes by plane and if you are travelling by plane, it takes 5 to 6hrs.

Our first choice was the trip to Lucla to optimize our chances of actually going to the heights. There was a delay in the plane, but this had to do with national security, with the visit of some VIPs from India, but this was not Yeti's fault. Yeti........ Yeti Airlines, the best Nepalese airline for travel to the city in the countryside.

It' even faster than we thought, the jet-stream is. But we are a little annoyed that the trip to Pokhara is always retarded from Kathmandu. Although we couldn't find tons of information about Yeti Airlines, our two trips with them, from Kathmandu to Pokhara and from Pokhara to Kathmandu, were sensible.

A great scenic trip to the Himalayas to see Mount Everest. Our stewardess is competent and points out the different summits as we fly past. Glas is used to round off the ride.... A good inland carrier. Pokhara is a very fast destination. and she was beautiful.

I' ve also flown with Yet Airlines along the Everest Mountains. There were delays on all our planes, but mainly due to the bad conditions. A good air company for flying....
