is India's Jet Airways regarded as a low-cost carrier?

According to the Wikipedia report, "In August 2014, Jet Airways announces that it is closing its low-cost JetKonnect and JetLite, making Jet Airways the third full-service carrier in India alongside Air India and Vistara. Long distance services are First, Première (Business) and Economy. It is possible to book a flight from the airport to the airport. Completely closed suite in First, flatbeds in Business and free dining in Economics.

This is definitely a feature of a full-service carrier. Although they are not in an alliances like Star Allianz, Oneworld or Skyteam, they have alliances with many airlines that earn and redeem miles. Since its beginnings as a traditional full-service carrier, Jet Airways has remained a full-service carrier to this day.

In the mid-2000s, the Indian airline industry experienced huge falls in prices due to the launch of low-cost airlines such as Air Deccan (later renamed Kingfisher Red following a takeover by Kingfisher Airlines, which no longer existed). Airways purchased a rival named Air Sahara and renamed it JetLite and JetKonnect (the airlines still used the old call sign "S2" as compared to Jet Airways' "9W") to rival in the same market group.

The JetLite and JetKonnect were rated slightly differently, with one being inexpensive and the other medium. It should be noted that the above -mentioned affiliates were mainly intended for domestic operations within India, so that the debate for intercontinental operations is rather controversial; with the exceptions of some southern Asia itineraries, intercontinental operations have always been operated under the Jet Airways flagship name.

Jet Airways took over the low-cost brand in 2014 and became a full-service provider. It is now partially in the possession of Etihad Airways. Jet Airways is a full-service carrier in all respects: With the Boeing 777-300ER it operates long haul routes and with the Boeing 737 / Airbus A330 it operates long haul routes.

Actually, the seating angle on its 30-32 " flight (based on the airplane type) is quite common for budget airlines. Can' t find a practical map yet, but from my own experiences their free luggage is quite common - 2 x 23 kg on long distance trips. However, Jet Airways is not yet part of an air carrier coalition as it must obtain the consent of the GOI before joining one.

This was a policy problem, as the domestic airline Air India was not permitted to join an airline until 2014, when it entered the Star alliance. Jet Airways, however, maintains tailor-made alliances with Star Alliance, Oneworld and Skyteam airlines. Have a look at other issues related to low budget airlines or ask your own one.
