India is blocking Jet Airways' offer to include London services.

The Financial Chronicle reports that Air India (AI, Mumbai Int'l) has successfully stopped the attempts of its domestic competitor Jet Airways (9W, Mumbai Int'l) to start further flight to London Heathrow with the airline's currently idle air travel privileges. As Jet Airways already offers three round trip air services a day between Mumbai Int'l and Heathrow, it wanted to expand its service with a further seven round trip airplanes a week.

Private ownership of the airline requested authorisation to use the air transport privileges given to Air India. According to reports, it has already obtained a number of extra flight tickets at Heathrow in an agreement with its trading partners KLM Royal Dutch Airlines. Air India has claimed, however, that it will soon use all air transport licences once the reorganisation has been completed.

Furthermore, the airline has stated that the notification submitted by its domestic competitor did not take into consideration the service provided by Air India of Ahmedabad.
