The JetBlue Airways Corporation, styled as jetBlue, is an U.S. low-cost New York City based company. JetBlue is a premier U.S. jet operator and the sixth-largest U.S. jet operator, based in the Long Island City district of New York's Queens district and based at John F. Kennedy International Airport.

Although JetBlue is not a member of any of the three main carrier coalitions, it has code share arrangements with 21 carriers, among them member carriers of online World, SkyTeam, Star Alliance and non-affiliated carriers. From May 2018, JetBlue will serve 102[8] routes (most recently Steamboat Springs, Colorado) in the USA, Mexico, the Caribbean, Central America and South America.

The JetBlue company was founded in Delaware in August 1998. JetBlue began with the southwest's attempt to offer cheap trips, but tried to differentiate itself through its conveniences such as in-flight entertainment, anywhere TV and Sirius XM satelite radios. Neeleman said that JetBlue looks as if it "should return mankind to aviation".

JetBlue's net income for the period decreased from $8.1 million to $2.7 million in October 2005, primarily as a result of higher aviation fuels prices. JetBlue also became less cost effective due to the higher cost associated with the airline's multiple comforts. The JetBlue brand suffered its first losses in the last three months of 2005, when the company suffered a 42.4 million dollar decline, enough to make it profitable for the full year 2005.

The JetBlue division also recorded a net loss in the first three months of 2006. JetBlue also forecast a deficit for 2006 due to high petrol price, operational weakness and aircraft cost. In the second three months of 2006, JetBlue Airways lost the black figures and exceeded Wall Street's expectation with a net income of 14 million US dollars.

JetBlue in October 2006 reported a net loss of $500,000 for the third quarter and plans to recoup this by postponing some of its E190 shipments and the sale of 5 of its Airbus A320s. JetBlue reported a return to net income in January 2007 with a gain in the final three months of 2006, thus reversing last year's net income.

The JetBlue was one of the few large carriers to make a gain this year. The JetBlue company has extended its services to the entire region, among others to St. Maarten and Puerto Plata from 10 January 2008. JetBlue will serve a further twelve Caribbean/Atlantic cities, such as Aruba, Barbados, Bermuda, Cancún, Nassau, Aguadilla, Ponce, San Juan, Puerto Rico, Puerto Rico, Santa and Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
