Boston is the venue for the meeting, but now Los Angeles is in the middle of an emergency. It'?s a private jet that takes off if you want it to take off. Following the restructuring of the taxis and AirBnB's effect on accommodation, the most sophisticated sector, namely export travel, could soon be equally upset.

Does this mean that regular corporate travellers could soon switch to cheap private planes just as they have switched to cheap, comfortable cabins throughout the city? This is what some airlines think. They develop easy, stylish portable applications to optimise free space in the private jet segment and provide a seamless travel reservation experience. What's more, they offer a range of services to help you get the most out of your private jet time.

Of course, private flying will not be intended for the crowds, but what if this area of the super-rich is to be made available exclusively to the wealthy - those who now fill the front cabins of passenger planes? Rather than call a brokers or buy joint property from exec jet, these new applications allow travellers to save a private plane with just a few mouse clicks and without paying member dues.

Market places such as Jetsmarter, Victor or Übairrely use sophisticated forecasting to collect airplane uptime information from thousands of private jet owners and create offers in seconds. "We' re a high-tech enterprise at the core," says Sergey Petrossov, Jetsmarter founding director, and adds that most of his company's customers are new to managing flight operations.

Petrusov sees a bright ahead in which the corporate aviation sector will go down the path of a transformed taxis destination. In fact, he thinks that applications could become so effective that rates would fall so low that private planes would not only take over businesses from conventional carriers and carriers, but also from traffic. A fleet of small aeroplanes could attract humans away from a car and into the sky.

Far more careful is Richard Koe, General Manager of the aerospace research consulting firm WINGX. Yes, some new entrants are rationalising the reservation procedure, he says, but that may not be enough to lower fares to a level that opens private air travel for more passengers. Instead, Koe believes that in the end, gamers could just do deals from tradtional brokerage instead of disrupting the fabric of the game.

However, they could provide an effective response to the empty leg issue. This happens when private planes are flying without passenger while carriers are repositioning them. It is estimated by some sectors that empty routes make up more than a third of all private air travel. Jetsuite, a lightweight jet company headquartered in California, was a pioneer in discount selling empty legged products on-line, and others followed.

Fly commercials can be hard, but what if things could be different? For Jetsmarter customers who sign up for its option subscription program, it even provides free empty legroom. However, the inflexible and incalculable character of the empty leg does not really meet the needs for mobility of the private jet crowd. lt is not the case that the empty leg is so inflexible and incalculable. Whereas a sharp reduction in "empty flights" ensures outstanding advertising materials, only a small proportion is actually used.

Given that on-demand charts are still the loaf and pan of the extensive aerospace marketplace, it is in this area in particular that digitisation can make a real impact by creating additional levels of visibility. Normally, a passenger who calls a real estate agent would learn very little about the airplane they are renting - nothing about the airplane model, the carrier or the fee they are billed, says Victor's CEO Clive Jackson.

On Jetme's website or app, clients input the destinations and data of their flights and receive a preliminary offer on the basis of a price quotation study. Jetme's system is intelligent enough to communicate to Jetme passengers the opportunities for their offer to be acceptable to air frame owners, so that they can make a more educated choice as to whether or not to surrender it.

It is more similar to that of regular carriers than that of executives, as flight paths are restricted and travellers are sharing the plane with other travellers. Wade Eyerly, Beacon CEO, says that this way of travelling has contributed to closing many transactions as the flight is a great place for creating relationships.

Started in 2012 with the support of some A-list VIPs, HotJet was recently positioned as a private jet seat destination after some recent bluster. It allows members to reserve places with a significant rebate on private air travel that is already planned but not fully booked.

As with empty routes, the restriction is that the passenger has to rely on the availability of planes depending on the distance and election period. Cranfield University' Pere Suau-Sanchez says that this compromise between costs and agility, as well as the fact that many carriers are working to improve their first- and business-class product in order to retain first-class commercial accounts, could be a significant barrier to winning new accounts.

Is there going to be a win-win situation or a more fragmentary economy where each gambler responds to the needs of particular sectors? Considering what has been happening with other sectors since digitisation, a significant level of integration could be observed in these centres, perhaps with smaller companies asserting themselves by serving small specialised sectors and providing different types of work.

So far, the democratisation of private flight has proved difficult to grasp and is likely to continue to be a challenge. But if only one of these aspiring carriers succeeds in winning through, the super-rich may soon have to look for new, more intangible icons of state. Mirquel Ros is an air travel blogsman.
